Faience shabti for Hathor-em-achet. Depicted mummiform, with hands emerging from tightly fitting garment, wearing the false beard and seed sack strung over his left shoulder. 30th Dynasty, 380-340 B.C. Small chip on nose. An ancient Egyptian Scarab, c. 1550 BC, from the famous Mitry collection (see our Homepage). It is 7/16” long (11 mm) and made of milky amethyst. Scarabs empowered life and resurrection and were often placed under mummy wrappings to protect the body and to help it resurrect. This Scarab comes in a jewelry display cup.

Authentic complete, still very bright paint and in very good condition for its age. Exceptional drawings. No restoration. Has been resting in an acrylic custom case which can be picked up by buyer is so desired. Some photos have a glare due to the acrylic case.. Photo 1 shows Osiris with 2 Papyrus pillars and cobras. And underneath a winged Isis holding 2 Ankhs and 2 reclining jackals on her wings...

There is a bow drilled hole that runs through the center, and there is wear on the outer edges at each end of the hole. This may be due to the fact that a leather thong was attached through the central perforation, and could have produced wear to the outer edges of the hole at each end
