A faience motto scarab. The base is inscribed with the characters Reed, Nefer and Neb, which together make up an Amun trigram.

Handle-ornament decorated in relief with a shepherd reclining on an acanthus, playing double-pipes. A lyre hangs from the tree which is shading him, on the left a sheep that looks on.
Triangular handle ornament from a mold made pottery lamp. Broneer type XXI (very rare with figural decoration). Light brown clay, covered with a brown slip.
Ink inscribed back: 1278, and label underneath 1278.

Ancient egyptian faience ushabti for Padusir - 19,6cm
This ushabti figurine is depicted as a worker holding two hoes for work in the fields of Osiris in the afterlife. He is wearing a tripartite wig which falls down between the shoulders. He has an Osiris-type beard which ends in a tight forward curl. Only the hands, crossed over the chest and holding the already-mentioned agricultural implements, emerge from the mummiform shroud covering the entire body...
Carved limestone head of a man with a voluminous wig. The man shows a gentle smile, which is emphasized by the wear of the face’s high points.
The ears appear just below faint sideburns that protrude from the striated wig.
Elaborate carving as visible in the corner of the right eye.

This is an interesting ancient Egyptian Scarab, c. 1200 BC, from the famous Mitry collection (see our Homepage). Certain items of jewelry, such as the scarab, carried religious significance to the ancient Egyptians. The scarab represented rebirth, so it was essential to have one or more scarabs adorning the deceased in order to ensure reincarnation to the next level. Upper part of the seated Isis nursing the Horus child (Harpokrates). The miniature scale head shows detailed facial features. The goddess wears the tripartite wig surmounted by a crown in the shape of the st-seat sign, the hieroglyphic sign used to write her name.
With her right hand she is presenting her left breast to her son, which is now lost.

Ancient Egyptian artifacts from the Predynastic Period, specifically the Naqada II (Gerzean) era, which dates back to around 3600 - 3150 B.C. The artifact is a hand-carved war mace head made of reddish-brown stone, possibly Breccia. The mace head has a globular shape with a large cylindrical perforation in the center, which tapers towards one end. The base of the hole is carved with a pronounced reinforced rim, which was used to attach the head securely to a wooden handle.
