A large terracotta idol figurine of astarte, Syro-Hittite, dating to the mid-later period of the 3rd. millenium BC.

The pillar figure of Astarte with large round eyes and a bird-like presence. Angular shoulders and a monolithic body with her hands and delineated fingers placed over her breasts.

Condition: Very fine for type, the details still present with no losses, a repaired hairline through the neck, minor chips and losses

A superb quality Islamic dish, Seljuq period 12th century A.D. (494 AH – 597 AH). Ancient near East.

In wonderful green-blue glaze, the center decorated with a carved flower in the typical style of the Seljuqs.

Condition: Superb, with fine crackled glaze, intact.

Size: ca. 133 mm. wide (diameter)

Provenance: Important Danish-French Private Estate collection, (aquired 1970- c. 2007) of Islamic pottery ware from the 9th.-12th. century. Comes with COA.

A rare bone seal with a finely carved base, Western Mesopotamia, dating to the late 3rd.- early 2nd. mill. BC.

The seal in the oval gable form, looking much like a scaraboid, and engraved with a a pair of goats heads and it's probably made by the Hattites / early Hittite people.

Size: 25 mm. by 22 mm. and 9 mm. tall.

Condition: Fine, intact with hairline cracks...

Early Bronze Age jug of piriform body, narrow neck and beaked spout. The handle is parted at the join to the belly and decorated with diagonal fluting – to render a twisted feature.
With a Thermoluminescent Report from Oxford University dated December 1976.

Luristan Master of Animals Idol Sceptre Standard Finial

A really nice upper part of a bronze standard depicting the Master of Animals on both sides. This piece comes with an antique custom made box which can also be used as a stand. An old tag with the collection number 345 is attached to the final.

The Master of Animals was a supernatural being, highly respected as a protector of game,
the ruler of the forest, and the guardian of the animal kingdom...

Large terracotta bull with prominent horns and a pronounced hump on the back. The holes for the wheel axles on the integrated base are indicative of a child's toy.
Also the small hole at the very front of the base, which was used to attach a pull cord.

A high quality earthenware bowl with incised decoration in green and painted in green and manganese on the exterior (Bamiyan type), afghanistan, c. 12th. century (Pre 1221 A.D.).

With carinated walls, and a beautiful Islamic symethric pattern in high relief in the interior. As typical for the most boldest specimens, the green and manganese colours are sort of splashed on the exterior side.
