The dagger very heavy fabric sharp shoulders and slight raised midsection tappering to the sharp edges.

Condition: Good Very fine nice patina asnd fine metal, uncleaned with deposits.

Mosaic glass pendant in the shape of a bearded head, surmounted by a large loop for attachment to a necklace. Phenicia, or Carthage, archaic period, 350 to 200 B.C. Height: 6.1 cm. Barely visible old accident, superbly restored, otherwise very good condition. NOTE: similar pendants are shown in the Antique Glass Collection of the Louvre Museum in Paris. Here we have an incredible example of an ancient iron sword from Northern Iran, possibly Amlash, circa 900 BCE. It has a saddle-shaped pommel with extensive geometric decor on the hilt. The iron blade, though deteriorated, is still intact. The slender and elegant weapon has survived millennia just to be in your collection. There is a crack near the guard area visible in the photos. This fragile and beautiful piece measures 60.5 cm in length in its current condition...

Carved in a grey stone and finely polished in the Neo-Assyrian period, c. 9th.-7th. cent. BC.

The seal is carved with a depiction of a deity tending a capricorn, below the symbols of the Sun and Moon, interesting eye symbol as well as a large star.

Height: 2cm, ø 1cm.

Condition: Near Extremely fine.

A triangular stamp seal with handle, Western Mesopotamia, c. 3rd. millenium BC.

Very large for type and with an interesting two colour stone where the upperside is calsified white and the base is in the original brown stone. The seal is engraved with a reclining animal on it's base.

Size: 29 x 29 mm. 18 mm. tall.

Condition: Very fine, intact and very attractive, with much even wear.

Added to the Oberländer collection in 1995...

An nice earthenware bowl with incised decoration in a white slip and painted in green and manganese in a yellowish glaze (Bamiyan type), afghanistan, 12th. century (Pre 1221 A.D.).

With carinated walls, pseudo-caligraphy and symethric decorations in high relief. As typical for the most boldest specimens, the green colours are sort of splashed on.

Fine seal carved in Quartz-Diorite, engraved with winged animal, likely a Griffin, on the base, Neo-Assyrian, 9th-6th. century BC.

A choice and beautiful red carnelian Cylinder seal, dating to the Achaemenid Empire, 7th.-4th. century BC.

Finely carved and polished barrel-shaped, carved with two animals at the sides of a tree. The clay impression, we made is not the best, but the seal is really sharp and attractive in hand.

Size: 19-20 mm. tall.

Condition: Extremely fine.

A choice Ancient Near East / Luristani tanged bronze dagger, dating to the 2nd mill. BC.

A lovely large amulet carved as a mouse in white calcite, drilled for the eyes and with a drill through the body for mounting it on a string. Mesopotamia, Uruk-Jemdet Nasr, 3300-2900 BC.

Finely shaped archaic version of a mouse with some strange engravings below the base.

A very nice and quite interesting cylinder seal in a hard black stone with white inclusions on one side, Late-Assyrian to Neo-Assyrian period, c. 12th. cent.-9th. cent. AD.

A wonderful depiction of a 'Scorpioman' and a 'fishman', both depicted as winged matured men with long beards and pointy hats or helmets. Their lower bodies evolve into a fishtail and a scorpions tail. All within a heering pattern border.
