Very interesting Roman pottery oil lamp with a Roman empress or high born lady on the discus, ca. mid 2nd. century AD.

The lamp can be dated quite accurately since the hairstyle of the lady is from the period of Hadrian-Antoninus Pius, so no later than 170 AD.

Size: 12 cm. a large and quite massive lamp.

Condition: Very nice and intact, with traces of corrosion.

Ex. Collection of M. Victor Dumas, France, aquired before 1920.

A large and rare bottle which have survived the ages in remarkable intact condition for type and size! The bottle with a funnel-shaped mouth and a thick body.

The bottle measure ca. 16,3 cm. in height, so a large piece!.

A beautiful and massive Roman figural bronze of two Fish, dating to the 3rd. century AD.

This bronze was once a Casket Handle on a larger Casket possible of wood. The bronze measure 18 cm. in lenght and is finely made with many fine details of the two coinfronting fishes, attached mouth to mouth.

Condition: Superb, fine green patina and completely intact!

Rare amuletic pendant in the form of a herm with youthful bust to the top. The slender square section pillar shaped body with lugs to the side. A suspension loop to the back.
Herms were used as boundary markers on roads and borders. They were also placed outside houses to ward off harm or evil. In its amuletic form the herm was associated with fertility and good luck.
