Extremely rare Roman stone fragments of a Sarcophagus.
Dated from, 100 - 200 AD
Measurements: Height: 17 cm - Width: 20 cm / Sides: Height: 16 cm - Width: 10 cm - Height: 16 cm - Width: 10 cm.
Condition: Intact as excavated. Not repaired and not restored.
Excavated in Hebron south of Jerusalem, Holy Land. All items that we offer for sale come with a certificate of authenticity.
Interesting set of three Roman weavings of Clavii and possible from the same Tunica, c. 3rd.-5th. century AD:
The clavi fragments with identical decoration in the shape of vases with border of waves.
Length: From 14,4 cm. for the smallest to 19 cm. for the larger piece.
Ex. Old European Private Collection, aquired in the 1960s.
A nice lot including a very large Roman period silver bead / hanger, a Byzantine or early Islamic Faiance bead in the original silver chain (rare!) and a nice clamps-shaped bronze bell.
Size: The silver bead / bell is c. 3 cm. in diameter for comparison.

A fine lot of three Roman terracotta oil lamps, Incl. a large Carthage lamp with Lion, 2nd.-4th. century AD.
The highlight of the lot a large terracotta lamp with a very detailed Lion (13,5 cm. long), but it also includes a Roman lamp with two figures (8,8 cm.), and lastly a small refined lamp (7,7 cm.). Interesting lot and too good to be sold as one really!

We've assembled a small suite of 4 very beautiful terracotta fragments, all from high quality oil lamps, 1st.-2nd. cent. AD.
The finest would possible be the almost complete upperpart of a rare lamp with a large mantis eating another insect below. Also incl. are depictions of Silenos, Europe riding a bear(?), and a beautiful portrait of a godess.
3 fragments comes in collectors boxes on red velvet.

A very rare and good size Roman Amphoriskos, in green glass with applied blue handles and decorations.
Size: 12 cm. tall.
Condition: Intact, but reassembled from fragment. Sound and solid in it's present state and quite attractive.

A Roman bronze applique in the form of a young satyr, with smiling mouth, large eyes, and with sharply defined curled hair. A small horizontal attachment rivet on reverse.
Circa 2nd century AD.
Very Fine condition with rich green patina.
Height 2 cms (0.8 ins).
A Roman free blown flask in pale green glass with flared rim, a short neck leading to the six-sided body and standing on a flat base, slightly inverted towards the centre.
Circa 3rd-4th century A.D.
Condition: Complete and intact with light iridescence.
Height 6.5 cms (2.6 ins).
At the height of its popularity in Rome, glass was present in nearly every aspect of daily life...
A Roman lead votive statuette of Attis or Paris standing with right arm raised, left hand on the hip; Phrygian cap with scrolled top to the head, pleated sleeveless tunic, leaving the right shoulder and the breast uncovered, long Phrygian trousers gathered at the ankles.
Circa 2nd-3rd century AD.
Fair condition but clear enough details.

A Roman bronze chest lock hasp in the form of a herm figure, with stylised male genitalia adorning the midsection; incised decoration to headdress; openwork rectangular plate to the back of the base, for use on a chest to secure the lid.
Circa 2nd-3rd century AD.
Condition: Good metalwork patinated deep-green, missing the loop at the top.
Height 11.2 cms (4.4 ins)

A terracotta Romano-Egyptian oil lamp with a large, decorated ovoid body. A filling hole to centre and a second burn hole situated within the rounded nozzle. The lamp is decorated with the crude form of a frog, viewed from a birds-eye-view, with forelegs splayed. Simple maker's mark to base.
Romano-Egyptian period: Circa 2nd - 4th century AD.
Fine condition; complete and intact.
