Lovely Qing Dynasty pendant of a monkey on a leaf, “staring at the moon”, carved from carnelian. An unusually fat piece with a rich dark color rarely seen in Chinese carnelian. Antique Chinese rare gold filigree hair ornament. Made to sit over a top knot. Shaped as an oval dome with a raised filigree back. Decorated with applied repouse lotus flowers on a backdrop of tightly spiraling filigree and inset with cabochons of jade, ruby and sapphire. Hair ornaments of this style would have been reserved for members of the royal court.

This antique pair of earrings are from the Miao Chinese Ethnic minority. For me the shape and thick "wires" add to the design of the earring...some groups of the Miao purposely expanded the size of the ear lobe holes to accomadate... I prefer to keep things in their original condition. I have used these in my "favorites" display case... the earring spann 2 inches x 2 inches x .5 inches. Assumbed to be low grade silver which was typically used in old China...

A jewel, reliquary pendant. The receptacle is silver embossed, the cover is copper with mercury gilding embossed decoration of Buddhist emblems. A coral bead is set in the center. A ring is provided for a suspension cord. The part opposite this ring is a hollow cylinder. It is possible that there was another mobile part now lost? However I do not see any wear that a moving part would have necessarily left traces and the jewel is well balanced so...

Very rare pendant in cast bronze representing a fabulous animal. It could be a bird because on the back there seems to be stylized feathers and the mouth seems to be garnished with a beak, but it could also be the fangs of a dragon? The animal surrounds a cartouche which contains archaic Chinese characters. The object is certainly very old and the style would indicate a very high Shang or Zhou period but the patina is not archaic...

Matched pair of late Qing Dynasty Beijing Milk Glass Bangles emulating Burmese Jade. These have an opalescent glow, with each having a tiny Jade green splash on the side. Made for the “poor folks” these are hand pulled- made from a straight piece, wound and quickly fused together.
