Statue of Bodhisattva Sadaksari Lokesvara, the four-armed deity seated in "dhyanasana" on a double lotus throne, his principal arms in prayer posture ("anjali mudra"), the other hands wearing the rosary (""ashamala") on the right side and a lotus of absolute purity on the left side. His head is sumounted by a stylized bust of Buddha Amithaba. The deity is wearing diadem, jewels and dhoti. The statue is made of gilt copper with turquoise and coral inserts. Tibet, 16th century. Antique Tibetan vajrakila phurba, a Buddhist sacred dagger "believed to be capable of transmuting vice and egocentrism into benevolent compassion. According to legend, Padmasambava introduced the magic dagger to Tibet to subdue forces hostile to Buddhism." (Bonhams Auction Tues. June 28, 2016 page.14.) Made of iron and copper alloy.

Beautiful and Unusual antique Tibetan portable flint lock container. The "U" shaped brass body of a lidded box is chased and decorated with the "Wheel of Dharma." Backed with a metal belt loop used to fashion on ones belt. Container to store black powered and lead bullets for matchlock rifle.

A very fine and genuine schist head of a Bodhisattva, 2-4 Century A.D., with soft, youthful features, wearing a diadem with rosettes. Very nice casting - see her graciously bent figure, beautiful warm brown patina, high devotional wear with traces of sandalwood powder in crevices, overall in great condition for a votive piece. Height 2 3/8 inches.

19th century small Indian bronze votive sculpture of monkey god Hanuman with his hands in praying gesture in front of him, and his tail forming a loop behind him. Hanuman personifies ingenuity and faithfulness - his strength and courage helped Rama to defeat Ravana. Cast in Maharashtra, wonderful casting (see his body in strong S-shaped atibhanga flexion at the waist) and detailing, nice patina. Height 2 inches.

Unusually small 19th century Indian bronze votive sculpture of Bhudevi with bare breasts and pink lotus (nilotpala) in her right hand. Bhudevi is the consort of Vishnu and personifies the earth.
