This is an Early 19th century excellently hand-carved Netsuke depicting a standing Scholar who is holding a scepter on his right hand. By his side, there is a Karako who is looking up to the scholar and holding a Jar. Intricate detail and rich patina. Signed Genyosai (Minkoku) on an oval reserve on the scholar's back. Netsuke measures 0,76 inches (2.0cm) wide, and 1.90 inches (4.8cm) tall.
