Early 19th century classic netsuke of a grazing horse standing foursquare, its head gracefully touching its legs. Excellent strong early piece in great condition, beautifully rendered mane, tail and spotted coat of the creature, eyes are inlaid with black horn. Fantastic patina, honey-colored on the back where netsuke was touching the silk of kimono, old age lines. Signed RYUSAI in oval reserve on the back.
