Rare Korean stoneware vase from the Silla period, 5th or 6th century. Undulating decoration incised with a comb and pierced with typical triangles. The upper part is covered with an ash glass. A similar but smaller and unglazed model is housed at the Minneapolis Institute.
Good condition. Height: 34cm
The Goryeo celadon at initial time is famous for its beauty like jade. This vase was made in the middle of Goryeo era and the color has become to a little bit dark. On the contrary, it has been loved by the masters of tea ceremony i Japan who pursues "wabi sabi".

A small Korean lidded burial jar from the Silla Dynasty, United Period, 8/9th Century. The jar has an overall stamped design, and shows kiln glossing over its otherwise unglazed exterior. The jar with lid measures about 4 1/2" high x 4 1/2" in diameter. The jar and lid are in very good condition, but there are a few very small chips on the lids' rims. A large kitchen storage jar that was made in North Korea. The Jar is an example of Korean folk art, and it has hand painted blue and green designs on a white base. There is brown staining to the exterior and interior surfaces, where the contents (probably soy sauce) bleed into the stoneware. There are two side handles for carrying. The jar measures about 16" high x 12" in diameter, and dates to the late Chosen Dynasty...

A Very Fine and Beautiful White Glazed/High Footed Bowl-19th C.:
Korea, Joseon dynasty, 19th century.
The bowl, set on a slightly flared high ring footed and with slightly everted mouth rim,
decorated in a white blue-tinged, warm and clear glaze applied overall evenly, with sand traces on the foot rim.
It’s in very fine condition but a small chip on the foot rim (see photo), measures 6.6cm h. x 8.3cm d.
"Bun-in" is the last kiln for Joseon court.
And there, high quality and sophisticated works were made.
This piece with autumn flower has "wabi-sabi" feeling.
In spite of damage of mouth, the repair part by lacquer and gold rather give more "wabi-sabi" feeling...
These offering stands were used in Korea on a family altar to elevate offering to worship ones ancestors. These stands were owned by poor people and farmers, and they are good examples of Korean folk art. The largest stand is about 6" in diameter, followed by one at 5 1/2" and the other at 4 3/4". All of them show spur marks and grit where they were stacked for firing in a large kiln. They are all in good condition with no damage. The asking price includes shipping within the USA.

A Very Fine Korean Buncheong White Slip Inlaid Bowl-15th C, :
Korea, Joseon dynasty, 15th century.
The deep bowl on short raised ring foot with everted rim, decorated in inlaid
white slip with a central medallion of floral heads and dots surrounded by a narrow
band of stylized double rings and wide band of “rope curtain” design, the
exterior decorated en suite beneath a pale celadon glaze.
It’ in good condition but some chips to foot-rim, it measures 19 cm d. x 8 cm h.
