A Very Rare/Fine Korean Joseon Long Sword-18th 19th C.: Korea, Joseon dynasty, 18th/19th century. Korean medium sized sword gently curved blade, leather-wrapped handle with chased brass cuff, blackened wooden scabbard with handle thread wrapped and the blade handle with leather wrapping. It’s in good condition with aged patina original scabbard and wrapped handle. It is in fair condition with its use and age, it measures Overall:72cm, sword and shealth:66cm and only blade:33cm.

In very nicely cracked light green celadon, it has a large, slightly flared neck, a round base, a motif of clouds and cranes in flight, and lotus flowers at its base. H28.5 cm D13.5 cm.

On a slightly cracked celadon cover, it has 4 loops at the shoulder. Rare shape, the body of the vase seems to be placed on a cup. It bears a signature close to its base of Yu Hegan (1894 - 1993). Very pretty vase in perfect condition from the early 20th century. H 25 x D14 cm.

Of polygonal form rosewood mahogany table with raised border top, tapered shape sides with open work carved design depicting different floors and trees, alternating with solid panels, raised on angled steep feet. It is very fine condition but missing one leg rim (see ph0t0) and a few hard to notice losses to decoration...

There are many 20th century reproductions of these types of paintings. Authentic Joseon Dynasty examples like this exist only in museums. And even in museums, a pair like this is very rare...

Chogappo made of fragments of choma (ramie), one of bast fibers, which is recycled from ramie textiles and dyed with sumi (ink) later. Pojagi is the general name for the wrapping cloth and "chogappo" is one kind of pojagi which is patchworked with asa (choma or hemp) fragments.
