A finely carved Chinese boxwood statue of the Tang poet Li Bai. Dressed in official attire with a scroll in his right hand, Li Bai appears to be deep in thought as he strokes his beard. Attached to a wooden base, it measures 9.5 inches high as pictured. Base measures 3.5” square. Condition is excellent. Dates circa 1900.

A Chinese porcelain brush washer with a flambe ox blood glaze and the splashed colors of red, white and blue. The pot was for the use of a scholar to clean his brush when doing calligraphy.
