Persian antique khatamkari marquetry chess/backgammon board. Opens to be used as either chess or backgammon board. Made with inlay of many different woods to create decorative and useful intricate patterns. Khatamkari is an ancient Iranian technique of marquetry inlay.

The incense burner consists of a thick and solid cast bronze cup which rests on a tripod base also in cast bronze. A cut copper cover is held by a hinge fixed by rivets. Islamic work from the middle east. Very nice old patina of the metal. Bronze very earlier than the 18th century. H:21cm. A hole on the lid (see photo) otherwise good condition.

The object has a broad rim engraved with four cartouches enclosing two lobed medallions engraved with a floral pattern, one with stylized bird and another with an inscription in Eski Osmanlı Türkçesi (Old Ottoman Turkish) in Arabic alphabet “Mustafa”, has some other illegible writing in Arabic alphabet...

Antique Medieval 13th century B.C. (597 AH – 700 AH). Mamluk Syrian Raqqa Islamic Ceramic Bowl of rounded conical form standing on a low splayed foot, the body is glazed in with splashes of turquoise green and brown glaze.

Condition: No cracks or repairs, except for a chip on the rim.

An impressive antique 19th century Turkish Ottoman hand hammered, gilt copper alloy (Tombak) Islamic ablution basin with cover. Basin with bulbous body and large flaring rim finely hand embossed and chiseled in relief with three bunches of grapes on a vine which also issues scalloped leaves with scrolling tendrils, and three cartouches with cusped concave rim embellished with flowers.

Antique 16th century Turkish Ottoman gold gilt-copper (Tombak) Islamic Amulet case (Ta'wiz-Muska) of hexagonal cylindrical form the bottom part adorned with engraved ornament. The upper part with two small integral rectangular suspension loops, allow the amulet to be suspended with a silk cord from the neck. originally held a Qur’anic verse.

According to the previous owner, this amulet case was found before World War II on the Mohacs battlefield in Hungary.
