Unusual subject, beautifully carved, excellent depiction of the animal’s body bulk, great hairwork on its coat. Collection of 5 silver alloy loop earrings with coiled ends from Cambodia. These are excavated pieces with nice patina circa 200/300 years old. I have seen heavy classic Khmer period bronze earrings in the same basic shape but these seem more recent. A rare and wonderful bronze mortar, Baroque period of Northern Europe, 18th. century.


The mortar is inscribed with owners initials O: H: S:, M: L: and the clear date 1769, the mortar is likely somewhat older, early 18th. century and made in a bronze allow, not brass that became popular later in the 18th. century.

The mortar comes with the original Pestle and was part of the inventory (Exebition) of a Swedish Farmacy.

Nice little stoneware elephant from the Sukhothai Kiln in North Central Thailand circa 15th century. All the legs have been repaired. L: 7cm/2.7in and H: 5.5cm/2.2in. These miniature figures were possibly used in Thai spirit houses.
