The most fun Sigi Pineda earrings I have ever had, this set is in fact the first in a series of three pairs I will be presenting, all in the same design vein. Quirky and definitely playful, the figures look as if springing out of a child's sketch book. Human? Penguin? A combination of the two? Whatever the case, they are striking, rendered in silver and opaque black oxidation, a surrealist representation of wearable bipeds...

The quality of this bronze neoclassical figure is exceptional, with fine detail, deep rich patina, and fire gilding accents.
It measures 12 1/2" high, on a base measuring 6 3/4" x 3 3/8". The base is open on the bottom and shows screws that hold the sculpture in place.
Probably had a marble base at some time.
Signed on the corner, "Moreau", one of the famed French bronze sculptors of the 19th century...
A vintage 1950s-60s Navajo sterling silver bangle bracelet with a natural turquoise cabochon stone. This bracelet measures 5/8" across the stone, and it measures 2-1/8 x 1-3/4" across the interior (which is adjustable). It has fine hand-tooled arrows, grasses, lines and symbology and the turquoise is a blue green with sections of matrix. It is unsigned, and it weighs 8.8 grams; it is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs...

This is a signed Hector Aguilar Necklace that is hard to find design. The color is a fascinating white as the silver is almost pure. The link is 1 1/8th inches tall and displays a hand chased crescent moon in each link. The depth of the chasing and cut out crescent give great dimension in your hands and when worn. Ship's portrait of the "Eagle Hull" (named on the stern and on a pennant.) Port side view and Stern view. Recently out of an estate where it had hung since the 60's. Likely a British ship and fitted with gun ports, a hasty search shows the red ensign was also used by Britain's colonies (or "subjects"). An informed maritime scholar can no doubt place things more precisely given the other flag with apparently Swedish colors...

I found this delightful tin box at an antique show in Reims, in the Champagne region of France. Circa 1920's, children used a box like this one to take their "gouter" or snack, to school. On the top there is an adorable image of a cat & a child running from a mischievous dog, and a small mouse appears on the side. Other than minor paint touch-ups to the child's leg (see photos) this box is in good shape. It measures approx 7" long x 3-1/2" wide x 2-3/4" high (5-1/2" to top of handle).
This sleek 1930's design by Frederick Davis features a finely detailed, hand carved malachite Aztec Warrior as the central element. Made for a smaller wrist the bracelet measures 6 1/2" long x 1 1/4" high and weighs 47 grams. Both silver and stone are in beautiful condition. Hallmarked FD on the clasp. Davis designs are included in many permanent museum collections.

I could hardly exaggerate my surprise when I bumped into this enamel necklace - obviously a Margot de Taxco inspired design, it is signed "VILLA", a name I have not encountered before and is not, at least to my knowledge, even mentioned in the extant literature. A combination of champleve and confetti, the enamel is masterfully done, with intense colors and the blue in particular revealing green undertones when the light falls on it on a certain angle. I simply love it and wish I could find out ...
Magnificent robe with fine embroidery with lots of gold thread on a red silk ground.There are 5 buttons made of solid gold, weighing ca. 8 grams each. The robe is in a very good condition, only some lose threads and light discoloring. H. 128 cm, W. 145 cm. This piece dates from the 2nd half of the 19th century.
