The central figure is a soaring phoenix spiral n elaborate plumage surrounded by clam shaped scallops in which leaping carp vie for the prize. About the rim 3 dragons battle for the flaming pearl. A lacquered and iron bound round lidded box called a kubi-oke made to carry the head of a man taken in battle or that of a man after committing ritual suicide for offering to the lord. It is 13 inches (33 cm) diameter, 11-1/2 inches (29 cm) tall with large handles from which it could be carried on a pole. There is mouse damage on one part of the bottom, but has not eaten through to the inside.

Decorated with scene describe of bridge and tree on the center and continous floral scroll on the exterior. Ming Dynasty Diamater = 16.5 cm Condition : one original firing crack on nthe rim, no chips, hairlines and free from restorations.

This rare, intricately constructed link bracelet of silver & amethyst was designed & signed circa 1950's by Taxco, Mexico modernist Antonio Pineda. Fred Davis properly hallmarked cylinder bracelet is 7.5in. long and weighs 73 grams heavy. It has a rich and stately presence being 1.5in. tall. No dents or damage of any kind as it has been well cared for. The shape of the cylinder gives it definition by sitting up on your arm. Many Fred Davis designs are represented in the books of Mexican Silver by Penny Morrill.

"Deserted Station" watercolor painting by Frederick Clay Bartlett, Jr. (American, 1907-1955). Signed lower right and dated Sept. 1942. Clay Bartlett was a Vermont artist with a residence in Manchester, VT. He was a member of the Southern Vermont Artists from 1934-1951. White wisteria (fuji in Japanese) drape from the gilded rim of this Kutani vase signed from the pre-eminent Kaburaki (Kaburagi) studio dating from the opening of the 20th century. The imagery is exquisitely performed with over-glaze enamels on a pastel gray ground. The vase is large at 13 inches (33.5 cm) tall, 8-1/2 inches (22 cm) diameter and is in excellent condition, with some wear to the gold rim.
