A ceramic cover for a tea room brazier in the shape of a devil dressed in priests robes dated and annotated within. Dating from the Ansei era, inside it is annotated by Daiko Sogen (1772-1860), 435th head of Daitokuji. Well known for his poetry and mastery of the Tea Ceremony, he taught Zen to Eiraku Hozen, and was compatriot to Gengensai. It is 34.5 x 34.5 x 30 cm (13-1/2 x 13-1/2 x 12 inches) and is in fine condition.

A Chinese B&W storage jar decorated with ladies playing a game in a garden, surrounded by children. Marked with an Artemisia leaf. Kangxi period (1662-1722). Of octagonal shape, decorated with Japanese ladies and floral panels. Signed: made in Hirado by Kusae'. Considering the size these were probably chocolate cups made for the export. The cups are 11,5 cm tall and 10 cm in diameter. The saucers are 15 cm in diameter. The set is in pristine condition.

Matilde Poulat's jewels are one of the most difficult from the Mexican Silver Renaissance to find today. This signed necklace shows the early MATL mark which was the name of her Taller. It boasts a wearable length is 17in and a weight of 171 grams heavy. The drop is 4.75in. across and 4.25in. tall at the highest point. The most dramatic of Matl's is seen with the double strand of fancy chain. A beautiful drape that is rarely found. No damage as was lovingly cared for, just LOOK AT THAT NECKLACE!

Sanborns crafted this open backed repousse cuff with a floral motif. This type of work is an early method with this one being of exceptional weight of 71 grams and a height of 2in. Sometimes these cuffs have holes where light comes thru and or have a lighter weight of silver. This has none of those issues of damage, repairs or faults of any kind. A lovely item of early work to be admired by collectors.

A water-worn bowl of natural wood lacquered inside with black and gilded, leaving black lacquer on the rim, to create a startling contrast between the mirror like black, shining gold and ancient weathered wood.
