Measuring 8.25 inches long, this vintage, Black Chef Spoon rest was made in JAPAN in the 1950's. Along with its jolly, wide-eyed caricature, the spoon rest features a rose-colored tulip painted on both sides and reads “SPOON- REST” in partially worn, brown lettering at the top of the chef’s hat. Note small "hanging hole" in back for display on the kitchen wall!

Very few of these pieces survive due to the high level of use they encountered...

Great design by Nettie Rosenstein. Gold plated metal with composition rams head. Back of pendant has a four leaf clover design. Chain is 14 1/2" end to end, pendant and tassel is 5 1/2" long and the ram's head is 3//4" deep and beautifully sculpted.

Bold, confident repoussage and fantastic oxidation that has been enhanced with the patina of years past, this is a big Margot de Taxco figural brooch in a design that doesn't surface very often. This is the truer to nature version of Margot's swans and the detail in the bird's plumage is beyond description - I have taken some detail photos to illustrate the quality of craftsmanship...

Guaranteed to brighten up your place. I have another wedding gown like this one. There is no sentimental reason, but it always ends up on my wall in every new location. Mine is a newer kind (40 to 50 years old) like this gown and pretty gaudy in color (it used to be much brighter) but it just shows off well. So, this might be your piece! The lining is a soft red silk. Actual gown looks older than these photos. The measurements are 51" wide and 72" long.

Great looking mid-century modern necklace by Sigi Pineda. The asymetric design is unusual and fascinating. It opens in the back and is hinged on both sides. Measuring 15" around in the inside when clasped, it is 1 1/4" wide in the front. Fine original condition. Signed for vintage Sigi as shown. This necklace goes anywhere.

A Haida west coast Canada native sterling whale pendant on chain necklace. This 1-1/4 x 3/4" pendant has evocative hand decoration of a whale with a different design on both sides and it probably dates to the 1950s. It is unmarked and tests as sterling silver and it comes with a later 20-1/2" link chain with a springring clasp (marked STER with the Forstner company mark). It weighs 5.9 grams and it is in excellent condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs...

I have always seen this signed Aguilar but it has been thought to be a Valentin Vidaurreta design. It is thought to resemble a Mask and is a sleek jewel at 5/8's inches tall and weighs a mere 27 grams of thick silver. The silver is 940 pure and with no damage but plenty of glare. There is a natural dark patina.

A vintage Double Diamond advertising pitcher or bar premium known as the Running Man by Beswick. It has the black stamped Beswick mark (used from 1936) and it has a pattern number 1517. This 8-1/2" tall barware collectible is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, damage or repairs other than some fine overall crazing and the loss of the original cork-mounted porcelain hat stopper...

Rare and magnificent silver and natural turquoise hair clip by New York Modernist Art Smith(1917-1982). An African American, he took his inspiration from African tribal art and costume to create "sculpture to wear". Most of his work is in brass and copper. It is not often that he worked in silver and even more rare to find stones and silver. The central piece of the hair clip measures 2 3/8" long and 2 1/2" wide at the top, narrowing to 1 1/2" at the very bottom...

A huge and stunning sterling and turquoise dome ring by Carmelo Patania who founded The Thunderbird Shop in Santa Fe with Frank Patania Sr. in 1937 and then opened The Kachina Shop in 1957. Each turquoise is bezel set with silver beadwork in between. The ring measures 1 1/2" by 1 1/2" so a VERY big look. It is a size 7 1/2 and weighs 19 grams. Beautiful original condition, fabulous turquoise. Signed CP Sterling as shown. STUNNING!

A charming set of Pfaltzgraff Muggsy Mugs, all six of the original characters. These are the early characters with protruding features from the 1940's to early 1950's. Handsome Herman, Flirty Gertie, Cockeyed Charlie, Sleepy Sam, Pickled Pete, Jerry the Jerk; they're all here. Each mug is hand painted, so no two are exactly alike. There are no chips, cracks or repairs on any of these mugs...

Signed Stamped Marked Wrap Ring: "Hecho en Mexico" 925 around "AAR", "Sterling Taxco" and 2 other numbers: 63?, that may be the 'matching style' number to a set perhaps, or the maker's assay? Deeply chased fish like motif as seen in one or two books. SOLD, no price, no info

Properly signed Margot de Taxco by Margot Van Voorhies Carr. The construction is open backed repousse with a strong frame around the edges that make it not bendable as well as 70 grams of silver thickness. This silver is exceptionally higher than 925. The gap is 1 inch and the diameter for fit is 2.25in. The height of the cuff is 1 7/8th inches tall. This is an example without damage and is also a very rare Margot. This should be at the top of any collectors list.

Elegant sterling silver and black obsidian necklace designed and signed circa 1950's by Taxco, Mexico modernist Antonio Pineda (1919-2009). The necklace will comfortably fit up to a 16 1/2" neck. The necklace drapes beautifully and is in exquisite condition with no issues. Fully hallmarked. The clasp is tight and secure. Antonio designs have been included in numerous museum collections and exhibits.
