A fabulous solid bronze monkey with a patinated verdigris finish. I purchased this bronze monkey several years ago in an antiques shop knowing that it was a contemporary item being misrepresented. But because he had such a great look and presence, I purchased him. The colors blend a little more and are a softer than depicted in the photos. He weighs 5 lbs and measures 8" high x 3.5" wide x 11" long...

A CHINESE PORCELAIN DISH FOR THE JAPANESE MARKET.

A finely painted blue and white dish made in China during the late Ming dynasty for export to Japan, specifically for use in the tea ceremony. The dish has a flattened rim that exhibits a little mishigui (insect eaten edge) where the glaze has bubbled and flaked on the sharp edge during the firing. This is normal for wares of this period and was admired by Japanese connoisseurs...

A LATE MING DEHUA BLANC DE CHINE KU VASE, 17TH CENTURY.

A beaker vase based on the classic ancient bronze ku wine vessel. The vessel is entirely plain except for two raised rings around the waist. The glaze is a mid ivory colour and is present within the flat foot-rim. Donnelly ( Blanc de Chine, Faber & Faber, 1969 ) states that the beaker vases with flat foot-rims date from the later 17th century, by the 18th century they have stepped rims.

7.5/8 inches (19.3 cm) high...

A CHINESE WATER COUPE FOR THE SCHOLAR’S TABLE.

The squat basin covered with a thick blue-green glaze, heavily crackled. The glaze is so highly suffused with bubbles that it appears almost opaque. There is evidence of years of use though nothing detracts from the eye; it has a nice lustrous appearance from years of handling. The porcelain is dense and smooth and this would suggest an 18th century date.

2.1/16 inches (5.3 cm) high...

This is one of the most spectacular pins I have ever scene. I originally thought this was Roger Jean Pierre, but after closer inspection, I see so many similarities to Schreiner pieces I've owned. It is an amazing 5 1/4" long x 4" wide and has a dark Japanned finish. The pin is intricately set with dazzling marquis and round rhinestones, and two of the flowers are "en tremblant". The clutch at the closure is a later replacement, but other than that, it's in excellent condition...

There is only one word to describe this amazing necklace and that is...SUMPTUOUS. The collar is approximately 2" wide with 1 3/4" drops, and it has a wearable length of 16". The emerald green melon beads were purchased from Maison Gripoix, the manufacturers of many of Chanel's pieces. It was made during Robert Clark's "grand" period of design, and it's obvious that it was inspired by Gripoix pieces of the time...
