This is a beautiful end of the 19th century Louis XV style Commode with an exquisitely patinaed rosewood veneer. This elegant piece is topped by a thick serpentine shaped Breccia Alep marble sitting upon the stunning bombe facade highlighted by its original and intricately cast bronze hardware. Beside the visual impact a spacious storage capacity is offered thanks to a total of three drawers. Minor scratches and dents can be seen here and there due to the age but nothing obvious. Edo-Meiji period, 19th century / 54 prints in only black ink on every 54 pages / approx. 237 x 152 x 7mm (9.33 x 5.98 x 0.27in)

Title of 'Yotanei' (lit. 'Pale leaf shadow') and shop name (?) of 'Mogusa-ken' (or Hyakuso-ken / lit. 'Moxa shop'), so that might be used as the reference book of medicinal herb for moxibustion by the acupuncturist or so. Rare find in fine condition.

This is an elegantly simple beginning of the 20th century Bench made from solid beech and directly inspired of the Louis XVI era. The long rectangular frame consists of a straight apron lovely embellished with raie de cour design. It is supported by four turned fluted legs highlighted with acanthus rosettes. The upholstery is estimated to be a decade old and in slightly used but passable condition. Wear consistent with use and age. Circa 1910-1920. Dimensions 18"high/ 51"wide/ 16"deep.
