Measuring 7 1/4" wide, 4 1'2" high, and 5" deep, this bronze inkwell features the head of a lion or other big cat, and has applied glass eyes. The patina is dark, with lighter tones where it has been handled and rubbed. The piece is cast in three pieces, the head having a hinged lid, and is fastened to the back of the base with screws. This bronze depicts King Louis XIV in his royal robes and other regalia, standing next to a table containing a small coffer, to which he points, with a key in his hand. The backing over the table contains other French and royal insignia, including a shield and crown. The sculpture is cast in three sections, with some welding evident on the back. It measures 16" high x 17" wide, and is 6 1/2" deep. The casting is fine and well detailed, and there are no losses or cracks to the bronze...
Measuring 12 1/2", and finely cast in bronze, this figure represents a Faun or Satyr, one of the followers of Pan, and the original was discovered in the ruins of Pompeii in 1830.
With good detail, and true to the original statue, this one has a dark patina, with verdigris visible around the head primarily, and some wear to the patina on the body.
Of nineteenth century original, and most likely a Grand Tour souvenir.
An Austrian cold painted bronze quails figurine from around 1900. This highly detailed 1-1/2" wide and 1-1/8" tall group depicts a pair of finely detailed quail birds with brown, white and red cold painting. It is stamped GESCHIT 1134 on the bottom and it is in fair condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, or repairs however it has a rough area on the side of the tall bird which may have been where another bird was attached originally...

A stunning fire patinated bronze vase. The mottled verdigris background in contrast with copper red patinated areas of resist in leaf patterns complete with veining to the leaves and texture to the sustaining twigs. A Viennese cold painted bronze figural, mid to late 19th century. Depicts a young girl seated in a chair and playing with a small cat that is on the girl's lap. The girl is laughing at the cat as she plays with a fringed stick that the cat is grabbing. Another cat is located underneath the girl's chair - probably wishing it could be playing as well. This charming bronze is believed to date to the Victorian era, circa 1860's to 1890's. Excellent condition...
