Just think, at this time only about 1/3 of college students were women and only approx 5% were physicians! What New England college bound young lady of that era received this as a gift? Both the sugar and creamer have a gold washed interior. A pair of Roden sterling silver handle wood salad servers. These ornate 10-1/4" serving implements feature wooden spoon and fork inserts with sterling silver handles marked with the Roden mark along with REG'D 1901 STERLING. Birks took them over later but the 1901 registry mark indicates an Edwardian date for the manufacture of these servers. They are in very good condition with no cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than a small chip off one tine of the fork...
