A large figural mirror, cast with a young girl gazing at the foliage, the wooden back having a metal easel support, stamped WMF , overall very good condition , a few abrasions to surface, glass not original, approx. 20 X12 in., may be a reproduction.

Wonderful champagne ice bucket, or "seau" circa 1960's, from France. To advertise their product, champagne houses would give these buckets to restaurants as a point of sale item, they were not sold. This bucket is used & has some wear from age. Marked "Champagne de Castellane" & on the bottom "Depose, HB, Metry, Made in France." Nice graduated bottom; ring handles. Chrome over brass; measures 8" tall 7-3/4" across.

Late Meiji to early Showa (1895-1930) period Satsuma covered bowl. Measures 8 3/4" diameter and is 5 1/4" high with the cover on. Decorated in a moriage pattern with young boys (Karako) playing at various pastimes, highly detailed painting interspersed with raised white moriage dots. The interior of the bottom and the lid are both decorated with an elaborate scene of birds flying amongst a profusion of flowers. Excellent condition with no cracks or chips or restorations.

A pair of stunning hand painted and gilt metal mounted 19th century Sevres style plant pots or jardinieres. This pair consists of two French porcelain 9-1/2" diameter and 7-3/4" tall planters with white glazed interiors and painted scenes on the exterior. The scenes include floral panels and 18th century couples on a deep turquoise blue ground with hand gilding. Each pot is mounted on a footed gilt brass stand, which has two side straps with lion heads with mouth tassels...

Vintage green, white and violet enamel, Late Art Nouveau motif to Early Art Deco Enamel Watch Fob Chain Silver Color Metal marked: MADE IN GERMANY and a bird mark. An antique 19th century hand painted porcelain cat figurine. This figure is probably Austrian or German and it is of heavy porcelain. It is very well painted and it measures 4-1/4" tall. It is unsigned and quite colourful with pink, black, green, orange, blue and gold. It is in reasonably good condition with no chips, losses, damage or repairs other than a tight hairline crack along the chest and a few small paint flakes on the back...

A finely-potted dingyao porcelain dish, with a moulded and auspicious design of a peony at the centre and two phoenixes amidst foliage in the cavetto within a key fret border. The rim is silver. Northern Chinese, Song or Jin dynasty, C11-12. No photograph can communicate the appeal of dingyao which combines both softness and severity...

Some of these masks would however be old and used as burlesque masks during the various festivals. The parts with nodules are preserved with a minimum of modification to represent the eyes and sometimes the mouth. This gives each mask a unique look of puffy, hideous faces...
