Hanging censer, measuring 15 1/2" from top loop to bottom of censer, 5 1/2" wide, the censer body 8" high. Unmarked, tests silver, 800 or above. Early pieces were rarely marked. The censer body hangs by silver chains, attached to figural subjects, and is decorated heavily with bands of foliate designs and roroco repossee motifs. Carved bone and ebony Civil War era dominoes. Mid 19th century. This complete set is comprised of 28 tiles carved from bone, laminated onto ebony, secured with brass pins. They are offered in their original wooden case with sliding cover. Box measures: 6.75" x 2.25" x 2.4". Condition is very good, but exhibiting some signs of wear and minor chipping to some tiles. All in all a great early game.

From the workshop of George Roth of Hanau Germany, ca 1895, this silver casket is beautifully crafted in the French rococo style. It measures 4 1/2" x 4 5/8" x 3", and is good heavy weight, 12 troy ounces. The interior has some remnants of gilding remaining, and the locking mechanism is visible (no key).
