In my opinion one of the best maestros in the art of repoussage, Jose Anton created both holloware and jewelry and was among the first Taxco Renaissance silversmiths. His work has never disappointed me - very creative designs, confident repousse and beautifully combined silver and stones elevate his pieces above the level of most of his contemporaries. I have seen the bracelet at hand with amethyst as well but I find that the onyx ascribes a certain kind of classiness to the design...

I have seen this brooch years ago with Fred Davis's signature and was a little surprised at the almost cartoon-like design at the time so the memory stayed with me since. And when I recently came upon the demi of brooch and earrings (you can see both pieces in the next to last photo), I held my breath - only to find Eagle 22 yet no FD initials on the back of the pieces. Unfortunately, Davis is famous for not being as meticulous as Spratling in having all his jewelry marked with his signature.....

A 1920-s platinum and diamond engagement ring, centered by a 1.00Ct old-miner diamond that has G color and SI2 clarity. The open scroll design is further decorated by fourteen single-cut diamonds, which brings the approximate total diamond weight to 1.25Ct.
