These matching Tobias cuffs were purchased together and have stayed together through time so I am continuing the tradition here with presenting them as a pair. Both pre-1948 cuffs are signed Tobias and are 2 7/8in. tall. Each weigh 76 grams and 79.5 grams respectively. There is a one inch gap and they are sizable. The Repousse is deep and gorgeous producing an effect of dimension that is breathtaking. The fashion statement at the time was to wear cuffs such as these together...

Any La Estrella is a true jewel. Sadly, the Taller was only in Taxco for under two years where they produced original work that was of the highest quality. The pectoral is 4.5in. across and 4in. high. The weight is 90 grams of quality repousse. The wearable length is 17.5 inches. No flaws, repairs or damage of any kind. Abraham Paz was known for bringing to life the designs of Fred Davis. Many of Davis's designs are signed by Abraham Paz. The stone is large and I believe it is obsidian without a sheen. You can put light to the back of the undamaged stone and see that it is most probably Obisidian. The length is 15in. That may seem short but it is built like a pectoral that perks up at the hollow of the neck and sits comfortably tipped outward...

The Hector Aguilar Glyph is a rare treasure from the Mexican Silver Renaissance. This one has a 990 mark making the silver almost pure. It is soft to the hand and more white in color. The 990 also reflects the age of the piece being one of Aguilar's earliest pieces. We have seen the matching brooch featured in Penny Morrill's books on Mexican Silver. Eighteen inches is the wearable length. Dimensions on the drop are 2.5 x 2.75 x 2.5...

An exceptional sterling and enamel necklace and bracelet by Margot De Taxco. This is the work for which she is best known and this set is surely one of her finest. The "W" design is intriguing and the black, white and silver dot enamel highlight the three dimensions. The necklace is 18" long and 1" wide in the front. The bracelet measures 8" end to end and is 7/8" wide. There is no enamel loss or chips or cracks. Both pieces are hallmarked and numbered as shown...

This pair of Matl earrings are of the double birds design which is quite scarce. They are unmarked and came from a hallmarked, matching Matl necklace and bracelet parure in my collection. Many parure earrings are not hallmarked. However, they are unmarked and the price reflects such. They are 1.25 in. wide and 2 in. long. The carving on the tops is exceptional. They are screwbacks and could be converted to posts. Please call with any questions.

Signed La Estrella Taxco 980 this lotus pectoral is an exceptional work. Several artists created the Lotus design. The Taller of La Estrella produced the most beautiful pectorals and they are rare. The shop was only in business in Taxco for around 2 years. Not much is known because they were not there long but everything I have found has been astounding...

We have a very special William Spratling early casa belles and amethyst necklace. Properly hallmarked as shown and 18 in. long. It has a height of 1.25in. and displays a strong presence. This is a rare piece of old Mexican silver and it is very difficult to find one with the proper number of 3 casa belles in between the amethyst that conforms to William Spratlings standards of this design. These hand made casa belles are extremely difficult to reproduce. There is no damage or repairs to this tre...

One of the legendary designs in the index of vintage Mexican silver jewelry, the "armadillo" can be found with both Hector Aguilar's signature and that of Manuel Altamirano's. It has been emulated by other maestros as well, less-celebrated and anonymous, yet the most important names associated with it are definitely the first two even though it was Valentin Vidauretta who created it. The "armadillo" necklace can be found in all-silver with graduated links going all around the neck; in a combinat...

Following in the tradition of Mexico City “jeweled” jewelry closely associated with Matilde Poulat, this Mexican Deco silver and amethyst cross pendant necklace is not signed for maker yet its rich patina, beautiful stones and exceptional chain more than compensate for the absence. I could hardly exaggerate how rare it is to find a repousse chain of this beauty, let alone one adorned with richly colored amethyst cabs. The stones’ circular shape is cleverly reflected in the beading on the c...
