Large, exquisite silver and amethyst brooch by Fred W. Davis, c. 1930. Davis combined amethyst quartz and silver in many of his pieces. This massive brooch measures 3 1/3" by 1 1/2" and is in fine original condition. It weighs 43 grams and is signed FD Silver Mexico as shown. I have never seen this piece offered before and believe it to be quite rare. A stunning blazer or coat pin and an important piece from Fred Davis.

This necklace is old and the maker used Mexico City folk art style repousse to produce this masterpiece. Simply stunning on and does not skip a beat with quality and condition. Natural patina in the recesses further pronounce the depth and dimension. The necklace is marked as shown with Made In Mexico Sterling. The center rose is 1.75 inches tall with a wearable length of 16.5inches. The hand carving on the top is masterful. Just look at the beauty in this necklace from LOOK AT THAT NECKLACE!

Early, intricately hand wrought 980 sterling silver bracelet designed & signed c. 1930's by American & Taxco, Mexico artist William Spratling (1900-67). Bracelet wearable length is 6 3/4" X 1" wide. This is a very old pre Spratling era Yalalag cross with it's original chain of a long 48 inches. Each cross on the chain is of thick silver. All of the beads on the chain are 9mm and hand made. The drop is 6in. long and the beads are much larger than the chains beads at 13mm. Again all the crosses on the drop are extremely thick silver and are also hand made. Pieces like this were normally not signed and this one is of no exception...

This amethyst and sterling pin by Taxco artist Fred Davis is featured on page 24 of the book MEXICAN SILVER by Morrill and Berk. They date the pin c. 1928. Davis combined silver and amethyst in many of his most celebrated pieces. This pin measures 1 3/4" diameter and is in fine original condition. There are no chips or cracks to the stones and none have been replaced. Hallmarked for Fred Davis as shown. An important early piece by this creative visionary.

pre Colombian beads sitting on a dish of sterling silver with sterling chain and beads make this a striking wear anywhere necklace. It is of Mexican origin and is slightly before or at the beginning of the Mexican Silver Renaissance.
