This is an incredibly rare Los Castillo early brooch numbered 169. The azurmalachite is 5/8th's inch long and the entire length of the pin is 3 inches. The width is 2inches. Formed as a pair of stylized swans on water, this sterling pin has both an abstract and arts and crafts feel. There is little information on the jeweler Nino Bisso (1906-1988), but his work exhibits extraordinary skill and creativity. Internet sources peg his company’s production from the 1920s through the 1940s. The back of this pin bears two applied plaques with Bisso’s marks. The pin measures 2 ¼ inches long by 1 ¼ inches high. Nicely designed with a bold look, this bangle features a molded, embossed surface of tiny rectangular bars scattered across a textured surface.
