Beautifully sculpted and cast bronze of Bacchus, the God of wine (Le Vin) dancing and reaching down toward a child or baby faun, by noted French artist Louis Holweck (1861-1935). This handwrought arts & crafts candlestick was designed and signed by William Spratling in the early 1930's. The candlestick base measures 5 inches across and stands 3 1/2" high. Excellent condition and patina. Signed on the underside WS TAXCO MEXICO. This Spratling tin candlestick is pictured on p. 227 of WILLIAM SPRATLING AND THE MEXICAN SILVER RENAISSANCE by Penny Morrill.

Hector Aguilar designed and signed this early set of 3 handwrought copper and brass ashtrays in Taxco, Mexico in the early 1940's. Each measures 4 1/2 inches across and is 1 inch high. All 3 ashtrays are in excellent condition with no dents or dings. All have original unpolished patina. Each piece signed on the underside HA TAXCO MEXICO.

The quality of this bronze neoclassical figure is exceptional, with fine detail, deep rich patina, and fire gilding accents. It measures 12 1/2" high, on a base measuring 6 3/4" x 3 3/8". The base is open on the bottom and shows screws that hold the sculpture in place. Probably had a marble base at some time. Signed on the corner, "Moreau", one of the famed French bronze sculptors of the 19th century...

Designed by Max Ernst (1891-1976) and crafted in Murano Venice, this tile measures 7 5'8" x 6 3/8" and is roughly 7/8" thick. The glass is clear, with a greenish tint, and has iridescent tints over some of the surface, with gold showing up in recessed areas. It is signed M Ernst in the lower left corner and is inscribed on the back: "Natale 1997, Auguri Gregory, Egidio Constantini, Venezia"...

This sculpture of an African American man is beautifully sculpted, in a style reminiscent of early 20th century artists who were inspired by the stylized forms of African traditional art. Good size, it measures 10 1/2" high, and the base is 6 3/4" in diameter, and is a heavy wood, possibly maple or walnut. There is a very dark finish, some of which has been cleaned off, and in areas where it was handled, there is wear to the finish. In good condition, some loss to the base around the neck are...

Exceptional quality and large size, this carved marble lamb measures 5 7/8" high, with a base of 8 1/4" x 5 1/8". It is substantial, weighing 9 pounds and 12 ounces. The detailing of the lamb's fur, face and overall form is excellent, with a nicely beveled base. In very good condition, with expected surface wear and ears all intact, which is rare...

A scarce artist's fully articulated wooden mannequin, probably French. 19th century. Size: 19 inches ht. Mannequins were an important tool in the artist's studio. Each was carved to model the human form and utilized wooden ball joints that allowed the figure to be manipulated into realistic positions...

Measuring 7 1/2" from beak to tail and 5 1/4" high to top of crest, this bronze is in excellent condition, with all the origonal paint. The detail in both the casting and paint is very fine, and the figure is life size and life like. It is signed on the belly and tail with Bergmann's "B" in an urn, with the Austria stamp, and KF in a diamond lozenge. In addition, on the tail, the mark of Carl Kauba is also stamped, which is unusual, and may have been done for marketing purposes...

Measuring just under 8" high, and 12" including the wood stand, this Santo head is exceptionally well carved, with fine detail and life like features to the face. The eyes are cast upward, and the pupils are carved in a concave manner. Most of the face and beard retain the original gesso and paint, with more loss to the back of the head, and most of the paint in the eyes is gone. Fine quality and nice detail, it is probably Continental in origin.

Beautifully sculpted from one piece of wood, this horse and rider sail effortlessly over a fence. The sculpture measures 16" high, approximately 19" from end of board to tip of horses nose, and the wood base is 13 1/4" x 4 1/4". The two back legs are one piece, just to support the body of the horse and rider. Every bit of the surface is slightly textured, like the hammer marks on silver, and gives the piece a lovely sheen and patina...

Antique cast iron Elephant door stop by Bradley and Hubbard. Early 20th century. Size: 10 1/4 inches ht. x 11 3/4 inches length. Original painted surface. Molded B&H on reverse and #7799. Very good condition with some chipping, scratching and paint loss, commensurate with age.

Smart and tailored gutta percha necklace or collar, tie it on and walk away. Gutta percha is a black or brown hard rubber like material made from the sap of a Malayan tree.
