Chinese bronze tripod ding censor with two upright arched loop handles at the rim. A geometric band encircles the rounded body. A comparison with porcelain forms suggests a dating of S. Song to Yuan dynasty for this vessel. 5 1/8"H x 3 3/4" diameter. There are original casting flaws on the legs and a slight dent in the body (see enlargement 6). This piece is from a Tucson, Arizona estate.
Description:
An olive-shape Jizhou vase was applied with beautiful tortoiseshell glaze all over the surface.
By characteristic flat bottom, the buff-tinted body clay was revealed in the soft-feel quality.
They were the characteristics for Jizhou wares.
Upon the glaze being well preserved in a very good condition, the immensely spread crackles were yielded with pinpoint holes which caused from incursions.
It is rare to find a Jizhou bottle in such good condition...
Description: A white glazed covered box was made in plain and simple form. Condition is very good except one minor manufacturing chip at the inner rim of the cover.

Description: This ancient jade plaque with incursions caused probably by metal chemicals was kept well under earth for almost 3000 years. From the drilling holes on two ends, we can be sure that this plaque was used to be fastened with cloth or with identical jade plaques to form a funeral jade cloths for deceased people.

A large and heavy Chinese cloisonne bowl with gilt rims and wire, enameled at least with nine different colors. An antique, splendid hand painted 3-1/4" high lidded dresser or vanity jar, possibly for powder or storage. This Japanese Royal Nippon item features lush gold trim with jewelling and it depicts finely hand painted red and pink roses with foliage. It is signed with a Japanese seal signature on the bottom. Ducks are the only life in this landscape of frozen rice paddies by Shirakura Niho enclosed in the original double wood box (Nijubako) signed Kanyu (the name he used later in his career). Teh composition is very minimalist, relying on the diagonal lines of paddy walls to define the foreground, only a haze of color to intimate the hills beyond. Judging by the style this likely dates from the 1940s and is an exceptional work by this innovative artist...
Kokeshi, wooden folk toy of NE Japan. Height: 16.75". This is an example of the "Naruko-kei" tradition of Miyagi Prefecture. The artisan was Akiyama Tadao, born on November 7th, 1932 (Showa 17.)
