Deep rounded form with steeps side and slight indentation belom the everted rim, covered in lustrous caramel-brown glaze streaked with black element emanating from the central flattened base of the interior, the glaze thinning to a dark brown colour at the upper end, the exterior similarly decorated the glaze falling short of the foort with sumptuous globules dripping over the body burnt a brown in the firing...

A Northern Song Yue type celadon carved dish, decorate with carved flower motif covered with green glaze. PERIOD : Zhejiang (yue) Northern Song dynasty (960–1279 AD) MEASUREMENTS: 18.5 cm wide. CONDITION: Excellent, no chips, cracks, hairlines and free from restoration.

Description:

A horn piece was preserved in charming old patina.
Old crackles were yielded due to age.
It can be a fine fondling piece as well as a standing statue.
An ideal piece as a seal too.

Description:

A bamboo brush pot was carved in uniquely curved form.
Decorated on one side with craved motifs of peony flowers and poems on the other side, the brush pot was preserved with Zu-huang(bamboo's inner skin) on the smaller sides.
It was in perfect condition when darken patina was earned.

Date: Late Qing periods, late 19th century.

A shallow dish, heavily potted, covered in a beautiful celadon glaze producing the crackles of the Geyao type glaze. The base is glazed while the foot rim is dressed with an iron brown wash and six dot mark. Periode : Qianlong (1736-1795 AD) Diameter : 28 cm. Condition : Perfect, no chips, cracks, hairlines or restorations.

 

A finely carved bamboo cane. Allover decoration of fierce Samurai combat from The Tale of the Heike Samurai (from the larger context of The Tales of Genji.) Beginning from the top, two naval vessels laden with Samurai allude to the sea battle of Dan-no-ura where the Taira were vanquished by the Minamoto. The child emperor is shown in large proportion with the Minamoto general in smaller proportion...

A 19th century Korean mother of pearl inlaid black lacquer mirror chest comprised of two drawers and double hinged top all raised on base with corner bracket feet. The mirror stand missing from within (as is often the case.) Cranes and peaches among clouds in fret border decoration adorns the top, flower decoration on the sides and bamboo decoration on the back. A wonderful ethnographic folk art object, this style of farm animal bell has been used in Thailand for centuries. Hand carved from wood by the herder and tied around the animals neck this traditional bell is hinged (or pegged) in 2 places to allow for a gentle knocking sound. This one was used for a goat and has remnants of the original hand made rope.

From Ibaden, Nigeria this traditional Yoruba cloth was woven by the men of the village. It was worn tied around the waist of the woman, and used as a baby carrier. This piece was brought back from Africa in 1961. Hand loomed of cotton fibers, it has a wonderful soft color and texture. It measures 10" wide and 68" long including fringe.

A beautiful Chinese Cloisonne Tea pot of very large size featuring gilt bronze handle and top with exquisite foo dog images in cloisonne design. In excellent condition measuring approx. 13 tall and 16 inches at its widest point.

A very unusual group of tomb figures, depicting three boys holding an zodiac sign. Painted and glazed pottery, the heads detachable. China, Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). H. 25 cm. Condition: only one figure has a minor chip to the neck. No other damages or repairs, very nice old burial condition. Comes with a TL report from Ralf Kotalla in Germany.

Japanese woodblock print triptych of swimming turtles and fish with actor mons and human faces by Yoshu Chikanobu (1838-1912) dated 5th month of Meiji 19 (1886). The convention of disguising portraits of actors arose in the Edo period when bust portraits of actors were banned, through the Tempo Reforms of 1841-1843, for being conspicuous and a detriment to public morality. Each panel measures about 14"V x 9 1/8"H. The print is in good overall condition with fading evident...

A fine antique carved Ivory figure of a fisherman with pole and a pipe in excellent condition measuring approx. 10 inches tall without stand.

An aquatint in colors by the famous Chinese artist Zao Wou-ki (Zao Wuji). He was born in Beijing 1921 and worked in Paris. Signed, dated '59 and numbered 32/95 in pencil. Condition: trimmed (die stamp of l'Oeuvre gravée only last 3 letters), slightly soiled and creased, reverse with annotations in pencil and traces of former mounting, one pinhole in image. Dimension: image: 39.6 cm x 44.5 cm, paper: 49.9 cm x 58.6 cm.

Description:

A Lusan stem cup was in lovely size.
It was well preserved by reflecting the retrospective sheen of old condition.
Blue and white splashes were suffused against the dark brownish glaze background on the surface.
Loosening-feel body clay was revealed at the lower portion in beige tint.
