A silver inlayed bronze incense burner by Inami Keishu enclosed in the original signed wooden box. It is 5-1/2 inches (14 cm) tall and in fine condition. This is a newer Hakata doll. Hakata doll was originated by a roof tile maker in the early 17C during the construction of Fukuoka castle. Hakata is located on the Kyushu island (southern island in Japan), famous to other porcelain makers such as Satsuma, Imari, Nabeshima and Hirado.

An amazing bit of weaving has been performed on this modern bamboo basket made in the shape of a gardener’s vegetable collecting basket. Bojagi (Pojagi) as traditional folk Korean patchwork hemp textile made from deep blue and pale blue scrap fabrics, late 20th century, 103 x 105 cm (40.55 x 41.33in), embodies the lifestyle and the story of the people who take good care of their possessions at that time.
