Elegant sterling silver hand made graduated bead necklace designed and signed (c.1940) by Taxco, Mexico artist William Spratling(1900-67). Necklace measures 16 1/2 inches long. 29g. A 14Kt yellow gold and diamond Art-Deco geometric design bracelet that consists of nine rectangular links. The rectangles are connected by straight line design links. Five out of the nine links are set with the total of 15 diamonds. The approximate total weight of all diamonds is 0.45Ct. The length of the bracelet is 7 5/8” and the width at the widest part is 5/16”.
I have only come upon this specific design once in the past - again in the form of a bracelet, that one accompanied by its matching pair of earrings - and have been looking for it since. So here it is, an unusual Deco floral piece, its three-petal links made of thick silver sheet, each one centered by a bezel set turquoise cab. A rare pair of inlaid Knifewing design cuff links by Zuni silversmith John Gordon Leak. The inlaid Knifewing figure is set in a background of black jet. These measure 1" by 1", weigh 20.3 grams and are in fine original condition. John Gordon Leak's work was prominently featured in the C. G. Wallace collection auctioned by Sotheby's in 1975. Iconic and early since it bears no Eagle mark, a gorgeous Matl ring having a box-type face set with amethyst and turquoise cabs. I love the wirework that always embellishes the silver in this type of rings - as time passes, the nooks and crannies acquire a patina that makes them even more impressive to look at. The ring is a size 7 with its face measuring 7/8" by 3/4". It rises 5/15" off the finger when worn and weighs 7.6 grams...
