A beautiful Japanese Ivory carving of a tiger attacking a Hippo. Finely carved details measuring approximately 3.5 inches long in excellent condition

We have a gorgeous William Spratling signed cuff with scalloped edges. There are 6 solid gold discs that line up across the center of the bracelet. On top of that is a solid silver thick wire. The color is a beautiful almost pure white silver. The diameter across is 2.5in. and the gap is 1.5in. Striking with a tall 1.75in. presence. The weight is 92 grams of quality workmanship. The condition is without damage or repairs. Rare and a crown jewel to any collection.

Wonderful sterling cross and rosary beads by Taxco silversmith Hector Aguilar. I believe this to be quite rare and it is pictured on page 153 of the book SILVER MASTERS OF MEXICO BY Penny Morrill. The cross is 2 3/4" long without the bail,3 1/8" with the bail. It is attached to the rosary beads which measure 15" when hanging on the neck. It does not have a clasp and slips over the head...

This a beautiful armadillo necklace designed by Valentin Vidaurreta and produced by Manuel Altamirano. It was also produced by Hector Aguilar. The necklace is 16 1/2" end to end and 1 1/2" wide at the center rounded square. Circa 1945-50, it is in fine original condition. The black velvet appears to be original to the piece. Signed as shown. Altimirano also worked for Hector Aguilar at the Taller Borda. His pieces with his own hallmark are scarce and this necklace is exquisite.

Proud and Daring Little Rooster, this Mod Stylized Silver Pin marked in back with perhaps an unfinished superimposed "P C" for Pedro Castillo or "C F" and Assay mark. Stands at 2.5" X 2" wide, 6 grams weight. Very Good condition with the stamps' outlines shown in front and has been polished some in the past, yet still age darkened areas in back. Bold and beautiful sterling and black onyx bracelet by Los Ballesteros. I believe this is originally an Antonio Pineda design. These are V shaped links with onyx inset into the sides. Each link is hinged and moves. It is in fine original condition, no chips or cracks to the stones. It measures 8 1/4" end to end and is 1 1/2" wide. It weighs 140 grams and is signed for Los Ballesteros as shown in the photo. A fabulous looking piece.

This is the type of Mexican Silver Renaissance necklace that you hope you will find at some point in your collection. Valentin Vidaurreta was a premier designer starting in 1931 designing for Frederick Davis and had a workshop in Mexico City. Here with this necklace you see an eagle 9 which was only given to Hector Aguilar. Vidaurreta had most of his work hand made by Aguilar when he moved to Taxco. William Spratling felt so highly of Valentin he designed work for him as well...

Today we have a signed Hector Aguilar necklace that was crafted before 1948. Jose Flores was allowed to also have his initials on some designs made in Aguilars shop and this is one of those pieces. The necklace is 17in. long and is .75in. tall. The silver is thick with a weight of 76 grams which is quite heavy with links that are open with space. With the silver at a higher content of 940 as marked the patina is warm and natural. There are no repairs or damage of any kind...

Based on a Salvador Teran design, the bracelet at hand is a great match to the Taller Taxco necklace also currently available in my inventory (please look for item no 1229490). A beautiful early pair of ornate sterling hinged cuff bracelets by Los Castillo, c. 1940. They are 1 5/8" wide and 7" around in the inside. Hinged in the back, they open and close in the front. The early hallmarks on this brooch date 1940-1945. This pin was designed by Valentin Vidaurreta. Shown with onyx stones on p.79, II-12 in "Silver Masters of Mexico", also noted in this book is that Vidaurreta produced work both in his own workshop and at the Taller Borda, and that the pieces sold at Taller Borda were marked with the HA mark until the 1950's. A rare and extraordinary brass cuff with repousse stylized fish motif by Hubert Harmon. The fish have a large cabachon onyx eye and their scales are three dimensional. Hubert Harmon set up a small workshop in Taxco around 1940. His designs are whimsical and unique. All of his work is highly valued and it is almost impossible to find.
