Chinese Northern Qi Dynasty Painted Pottery Figure (AD 550 - 577)

This rare and unusual painted pottery figure was made during the Northern Qi Dynasty (AD 550 - 577). It is made from a relatively highly-fired grey pottery that has been "cold painted" in various coloured pigments, traces of which still remain. Note the details of the clothing, the headgear, both tied with a bow, and the facial features...

Blue and White jar decorated with two kind of eight precious things : the mirror (zhing) to counteracts evil and lozenge as a symbol of victory, lotus interlocking, lotus petal scroll to the foot and prêt patern on the shoulder ; . Kangxi 1662-1772. Height = 12.5 cm, Width= 11.5 cm. Condition : perfect, no hairlines, cracks, chips or restoration.

A stunning 1950s retro 14k white gold diamonds ring. This size 8-1/4 ring features a central diamond with two flanking diamonds (65 points total) of SI-1 clarity and G-H colour and it has 8 round brilliant cut and 8 single cut diamonds (total 35 points) of VS clarity (3 chipped at girdle) of G-H colour. A pair of Satsuma earthenware vases painted with two different continuous scenes of women and children in a landscape. Bases signed within a cartouche "Ryozan". Condition: fine, only little wear to gilding. Dimension: 23.8 cm high.

A demure image of grace and youth; this is a fine full sized Bunraku theater puppet dating from the first half of the 20th century; one of two from a private collection we are currently offering. The eyes open and close, but are stiff, hands are flexible and fully operational. She wears a period red brocade kimono with kiku chrysanthemum patterns and a black obi featuring dragons and phoenix. A white silk lining and silver crown of flowers complete her outfit...

A 10k yellow gold diamond tie tack or tie pin from the 1960s. This 7/16" x 1/4" man's tiepin or tie tack has a 2 point (size by gauge) genuine round brilliant cut diamond. It has a gold plated bulldog clasp and a t-bar and chain guard. It is stamped 10K with a maker's mark (also tested since the mark on the shaft is slightly worn, and diamond has been tested)...

Solid Ultra Modern Ring Signed: "S'Paliu" and "Spain 925 S" built up high with 2 inserted squarish chrysoprase stones. Resembles the "Moltke Denmark" ring on page 238 of Christie Romero's 3rd edition "Warman's Jewelry", but this one is of course by a Spain Modernist. Very Architectural! Size 7.5. 1.25" N to S and 5/8" wide. Shank is 1/4" wide and 1+ mm thick. Just under 1/2" oz. postal scale...

Undoubtedly inspired by Margot de Taxco's Koi Fish line, a pair of early Antonio Reina repousse earrings showing playful fish among stylized silver waves. I can't get over the detail in this set - just note the depth of the repoussage, the detail in the scales and the hand-hammering in the waves themselves to render them three-dimensional. The earrings are 1 5/8" long by 15/16" wide and weigh 8.4 grams (for the set)...

Hand crafted in sterling silver, this vintage articulated keepsake or pill box was designed and & signed c. 1950's by William Spratling. Measuring 6 1/4" x 2" the fish weighs 90 grams. Excellent condition and patina. Fully hallmarked. Spratling's designs were often inspired by the menagerie of wildlife that surrounded him in Taxco. Beautiful accent piece for any décor.

A Victorian Masonic gold filled rectangular photo locket watch fob from the 1900 era. This fine 1 x 1-1/4" (sans loop) bottom opening locket has a well-done hand engraved Masonic compass on one side and an ornate HEE monogram on the other. It has a photo retaining bezel (marked H&AS) and an instant relative and it is in excellent condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs...

Very nice bisque doll by Jules Verlingue ..... France around 1900 .... has generally all perfect condition with original French Body and lovely factory clothing . She has lovely quality of bisque socket head with large blue inset glass eyes with fine painted lashes and single brows , open mouth with a row of white porcelain teeth between here outlined lips . Original brunette mohair wig which was never removed from her head . But please no worry .....

In mint condition, only light age wear to the decoration. Diameter 24,5 cm, H. 13 cm.

Haskell's sparkling amber colored glass beads of various shapes combine with two shades of amber rhinestones and clear rhinestones. All prong set. Miriam Haskell stamped on back of flower clasp. Miriam Haskell also stamped on the attached metal tag. Length is 14" with a 3" extension. Longest fringe is 2 1/2", shortest is 1 1/2".
