Fine & Rare Large Chinese Han Dynasty Painted Pottery Box (206 BC - AD 220)

This rare pottery box was made during the Han Dynasty (206 BC - AD 220). It is a two-part box made from a grey pottery. The cover has been elaborately decorated by "cold-painting" a base coat of creamy-white pigment on top of which have been various coloured pigments, mainly red, white and black, but there are also traces of green and purple pigments...

The paper sheet, matted and framed, measures 50.5 x 42 cm (20 x 16-1/2 inches) and is in excellent condition. This is an superb example of his work, showing both his eros and playful nature in the abstracted figuration for which he is most remembered...

Rare Small Chinese Han Dynasty Bronze Ding (Published)

This bronze ding was made during the Han Dynasty (206 BC - AD 220). Its form, that of a three-legged covered cooking vessel, is well-known amongst Han Dynasty bronzes. However, most examples are larger; this is a rare small example. The body stands on three legs that are in the form of bears. On either side of the vessel are square handles...

This hand carved octagonal ashtray was designed by William Spratling c.1950's. The design is centered with a sterling silver bowl secured in place with bold silver rivets. The surround is inlaid with silver eagle heads & bead circles. The piece measures 5" across & 3/4" high. Both rosewood & silver are in beautiful condition.

A truly magnificent vase of pastel blue floral designs on yellow-green body by Miyanaga Tozan enclosed in the original signed wooden box. It is 8 inches (20 cm) tall and in excellent condition. It retains the original wooden base. I believe this is by the second generation.

Large Chinese Yuan Dynasty Cizhou Stoneware Jar

This wonderfully-shaped jar was made during the Yuan Dynasty (AD 1279 - 1368), at one of the kilns in northern China where Cizhou wares were produced during the 11th - 14th centuries. It is heavily-potted with the outer surface coated in a white slip and decorated in underglaze iron-brown. The decoration comprises various bands that surround the body and a variety of floral patterns...

Dramatic and shimmering in three shades of green, this set deserves a good home. All the stones are prong set and foil backed. The quality of the rhinestones is outstanding. The necklace, bracelet, and one earring are marked "Made in West Germany. The inside edge of the choker is 13 1/2", end to end with a 2 1/2" extension chain. The choker is 1 3/8" wide. The bracelet is 7 1/8" end to end, and 1 3/8" wide. The clip earring are 1" by 1/2".

From the workshop of George Roth of Hanau Germany, ca 1895, this silver casket is beautifully crafted in the French rococo style. It measures 4 1/2" x 4 5/8" x 3", and is good heavy weight, 12 troy ounces. The interior has some remnants of gilding remaining, and the locking mechanism is visible (no key). It is stamped on the bottom with the marks of George Roth, with crowns over an A, a P, and a Fleur de lis. George Roth was a silversmith in Hanau, working between 1891 and 1908, and like man...

Chinese late Qing dynasty Han style lady's jacket with a deep blue silk brocade background woven with bats among clouds. The sleeve bands are embroidered with cranes among branches laden with fruit and flowers set against a white ground bordered with woven ribbon accents. The collar, side closure, and ruyi head-form hem are all embroidered with butterflies and stylized flowers edged in yellow silk and ribbons set against a white ground.
