A classic, and much published, design for Hector Aguilar, the “masks” bracelet was not an example of the Taxco maestro’s work that I was particularly looking for. I considered it - let’s say - less impressive than the rest of his jewelry and resisted it for the longest of times. Until one day, I somehow ended up with one. And I fell in love- honestly...

A geometric silver bracelet from Mexico with seven bezel set dome shaped stones. The stones range in color from tan to pale green, not sure what they are.

Marked Silver Mexico. Measures 7 1/4" long and 1 1/2" wide. Hook clasp holds securely. Has some minor surfaces scratches and a little tarnish.

A vintage large sterling silver Mid Century Modernist brooch by Ed Wiener in the shape of a five pointed star.

Made from thick sterling wire. Unsigned, as were most of his star brooches. We believe this one is the larger version.

Measures 3 1/8" across and 2" high.

Has a rollover safety clasp that holds securely. There may be a slight bend on the long arm, may be original to the piece. Has some minor surface scratches and tarnish.

How big does a piece of jewelry have to be before it qualifies to be called monumental? I think at 4.25'“ tall, this Mexican Deco butterfly brooch definitely fits the bill. Fauna- and flora-themed pieces are not rare within the world of vintage Mexican silver jewelry yet examples of astounding proportions like our brooch come far and in between. The semi-translucence of the stone is here enhanced by the variegated color which progresses from lucid white to sage green...

Mimi Di N Vintage dead stock bracelet & earrings. The earrings and the clasp are made of gold color metal with an overlay of royal blue enamel and pave rhinestones in a twist design. Four strands of pearls with rondelle spacer accents attach to the large double circle clasp. From the mid 1960s, the set is in pristine condition. The earrings measure 1" (2.9 cm) in diameter. The clasp circles are 1 3/8"(3.9 cm) in diameter and the four strands of pearls are 1 1/2" (4.1 cm) across...

Good things come in small packages. This charming pin is small but beautiful. It is made of 800 silver, enameled on both front and back, and centered with a square-cut peridot. The pin is 3/4" in diameter. Enamel is slightly worn on the front, but is in better condition on the back. There is a small chip in the stone...

A bit of history for your lapel During the Victorian era, every young gentleman had to make his Grand Tour, picking up souvenirs along the way. Lava cameos (actually made from a very fine-textured limestone) made into jewelry were highly sought after. We can visualize this as a gift from a young man to a blushing Victorian maiden! This Victorian lava cameo is mounted in a 14 k gold stickpin. The cameo and mounting are 3/8" in height; overall length of the pin is 2 5/8"...

This Art Nouveau stickpin is both simple and simply attractive. It dates from about 1900. The artful knot of 14 k gold holds a small pearl. The pin is ~3" long, and it comes with a clutch to prevent accidental stabbings. ☺

A 10 X 12 millimeter oval faceted natural amethyst is set in a 10Kt yellow gold four prong simple yet elegant Retro setting. The ring is a size 5 ¾ and can easily be sized.

A vintage modernist pendant and neck ring by B. Poulsen, Denmark. Streamlined curves, thick sterling, very Mid Century.

Marked Sterling, and B. Poulsen on the back of the pendant. Measures 2" long and 1 1/4" at the widest. Neck ring measures about 16" around and has a secure double hook closure marked 925S.

Fine condition, minor surface scratches.

This charming pin is the embodiment of Victorian design. A very stylized butterfly perches on a row of 'gold' ball-shaped dangles. The butterfly is centered with a colorless brilliant, and flanked by small ruby pastes at each side. As was common at the time in the Victorian era, a matching stickpin acts as a safety feature as well as being pretty. The pin is a generous 1 1/2" and is gold filled. There is a maker's mark PC Co. Circa 1880

This plique a jour pendant is centered with an oval white opal and accented with eight colorless brilliants. The dropper is a fresh water pearl. The translucent enamel is an unusual and lovely blue in color. Plique a jour, that unusual, difficult, and beautiful technique, dates from the 15th century. It was used by Cellini, then revived in the late 1800s in France. The metal frame in this lovely piece is 900 silver, suggesting that the piece is most likely German or Austrian in origin...

Huge and bold, vintage sterling " Armadillo " belt buckle by Hector Aguilar. It consists of 5 panels held together by rivets and measures a very impressive 6 1/4" by 2 3/4". Weighing a hefty 141 grams, it is in fine original condition and signed with Hector Aguilar's hallmark dating 1943-48. Suitable for a man or woman, this is a show stopping piece.

Vintage, stylish, organic shaped sterling clip earrings with oxidized areas by Arizona Modernist H. Fred Skaggs. Measuring 1 1/2" by 1 1/4", they weigh 11 grams total and are in fine original condition. Signed as shown. Interesting and unusual.
