Here is a splendid locket depicting some sort of creature: zephyr? Lion? Or some other mythological critter? He has a diamond in his mouth, and his eyes are red stones (too small to ID). Measuring 1-1/8”, weighing 9.5g, and marked 10k, he is set up for 2 photographs with both celluloid and photo rings. He's a somewhat rosy gold (NOTE that it was really hard to capture the color of the gold in the photographs), and has the maker’s mark for Kroll. In excellent condition and circa 1900...

Here is a pretty Victorian ring with scroll work on the shank. The center decoration is a horizontal row of seed pearls, with two red stones to the north and south. One stone is badly chipped, and both are abraded. One of them might be a doublet, but otherwise we don’t know what they are, because of the abrasions, so assume “paste” (glass). It is stamped 10K, and is approximately size 8. It could be sized. Circa 1900. The photos are part of the description so please examine them carefully...

The links in this Deco Mexican silver necklace by Victoria , to the world Ana Maria Nunez de Brilanti, are inspired by cactus flowers and hand-wrought in sterling silver sheet with good thickness. One of my favorite designs by her, it was available in at least two different widths and the example at hand is the narrower, easier to wear version no matter what the occasion or the ... weather is...

In fine condition with some surface scratches and tarnish, shows some surface wear. There is a very tiny ding at one corner on the underside, you really have to look for it...

Here is a beautiful 15kt yellow gold double-cluster ring: a cluster of pearls centered by a ruby, and a cluster of rubies centered by a diamond. In the center of each is a Star of David motif in gold. Ruby is the birthstone for July. The ring is hallmarked for Birmingham, England and 15 karat gold, and a date mark for 1877, and also a maker’s mark for “P&E”. Size 7-1/2. One of the pearls may be a replacement, and one prong is missing...

A lightly hammered sterling silver bangle bracelet by Tone Vigeland. Measures 2 1/2" across the inside and 2 3/8" high. Also measures about 7" around the inner circumference. Slightly oval so easier to slip on. Better for a small to medium wrist.

Nice weight and quality. Fine condition with a warm patina. Great example.

A modernist pendant by the noted NYC jeweler, Paul Lobel. This pendant is made of sterling silver in the shape of a stylized leaf with a wire overlay which wraps around to become the bale. Signed on the back, LOBEL, Sterling. Has some tarnish and minor surface scratches. Measures 1 7/8" across and 3" high including the bale.

Not sure if the chain is original to the pendant...

This elegant lady is made from 14k gold – there is a partial mark, so we tested it to be sure. Her face is framed by a stylized shell motif, and she has flowers and a diamond in her upswept hair, as well as another diamond nestled in her décolletage. This watch pin or brooch is of hollow construction, and weighs 4.7g. It measures 1” x 1-1/4”. The pin stem assembly is original. Her face is a little worn in the high places, as is usual, and the back has darkened in a couple places...

Here is a simple but beautiful stick pin, featuring an oval of pale pink “angel skin” coral, measuring 9/16” x 3/8”. The whole thing is 2-7/8” long. Unmarked, it tests as 14k gold. The setting has a waving edge, and cut-outs to show the coral along the sides. Pink coral is said to restore harmony to the heart. It weighs 3.0g. The pin is a little bent (normal for gold stick pins), otherwise in excellent condition and circa 1910. The photos are part of the description; please examine t...

Slick, less-is-more design and a beautifully carved amethyst "mask" make this vintage 1950s Mexican sterling silver ring easy to wear and a real treat for the eye! There is something masculine about the simplicity of the ring itself that is, however, tempered by the delicately soft, slender features of the stone "face". The amethyst is here semi-translucent and the absence of intense inclusions allows the light to penetrate it and make it look like purple Italian ice. The ring is a sz 8.75 US (r...

Incredible regal Countess CIS necklace fit for a queen! Different size crystal paste stones cascading down set in her standard opened quill pen like setting. As also expected, the metal is japaned soldered onto the same color metal chain so there is contrast between the stones and metal. It has a push in clasp to the reverse and dates to sometime in the 1960s. It measures about 18” around the neckline and just under 2" down the front middle crystal length when worn. The crystal paste stones...

Here is a beautiful ring in unmarked but tested 18kt rose gold. The center stone is a ruby cut in an older style, but in really excellent condition. (It’s possible that it’s a replacement stone.) It is surrounded by 8 rose cut and more randomly-cut diamonds which are definitely original, and which might be foiled, but in any case are in a closed-back setting. Typically for the period, a couple of them are chipped or have feathers (inclusions). It is unmarked and has a nice patina. The ring ...

Though it is not uncommon to find Mexican silver fur pins, it is usually single pieces that are available. Here, however, there is a pair bearing the signature of the Los Castillo in a “bow and flower” design. I am not sure if the workshop ever made a whole parure available in this specific design - I have had the small bow necklace / bracelet sets in the past but this is an enhanced version, with more elements added to the bow and the bow itself bigger and fancier. I have seen one or two br...

This 18 karat yellow gold retro Tiffany & Co. stick pin engraved with a gracefully leaping reindeer shows off the fanciest of Christmas cheer. The piece is signed Tiffany and marked 18k on the back. There are a few superficial scratches, as seen in the photos, but otherwise the piece is in excellent condition. The measurement of the oval disc is 18 millimeters by 13 millimeters.

Huge, proud and absolutely secure in its exotic beauty, this is one of the biggest quetzal brooches I have seen in the realm of vintage Mexican silver jewelry. An irrefutable statement piece, I can imagine its first owner wearing it on a padded shoulder and basking in the light of the stream of compliments and jealous looks the bird generated. Yet it is not just proportions that attract the eye here - the repoussage is confident and sculptural; the oxidation glorifies the plummage; and please, j...
