A stunning pair of 18K yellow and white gold earrings by Faraone in cooperation with Tiffany & Co. The yellow gold half-hoops are accented with white gold "stems" that burst open flowers set with marquise cut rubies. The rubies have fine slightly purplish-red color saturation. Intact inclusions indicate that the rubies are unheated. Faraone was one of the oldest jewelers in Italy, serving as court jeweler to the Royal household and to luminaries such as Maria Callas...

Massive Los Ballesteros Mexican silver pendant, layered, adorned with beading and oxidation, in a convex shape that pushes the huge citrine centering it out at you - this is one of the most impressive pendants of theirs I have seen. For me it betrays a distinct Spanish Colonial influence as it based on the ornate order medals royals around the world like to bestow on select individuals to show favor and appreciation...

Vintage pair of sterling silver bangles bearing the hallmark of a Jamaican silversmith whom my admittedly not thorough research has not been able to identify, this set has textured repousse ends and etched floral and geometric decoration on the bodies proper. It seems that the form is well known in the index of Jamaican / East Indian jewelry - sometimes the bangles have fists at their ends - and it continues to be made today. Our duo is older though, I think, and such a pleasure to wear...

This gorgeous vintage demi-parure of a heart shaped brooch with matching earrings, was done by Robert of Robert's Originals, who used to work for Miriam Haskell until he started his own jewelry business. I've never seen another set like it before, so I suspect he didn't make many of them. It is a bevy of a beauty with lots of blue and opaline glass stones set with mirror-back rhinestones onto a plated metal piece...

I love these early Christian Dior earring made by Henkle and Gross for them back in 1968. These are a very rare pair done in the fabulous mogul style known as 'Jewels of India' where they used carved precious gemstones. These are made from molded glass stones with deliberate striations in the glass to imitate real amethysts flowers with jade glass stems. Then bright rhinestones around the bulbous melon type stones. These are in excellent vintage condition with just some wear to the clips...

Navajo Mark Chee (1914-1981)is among the earliest Southwestern silversmiths. He is known for traditional stamp work, old style designs and high quality stone settings in unusually heavy silver. This bracelet is a fine example of these skills for which he is best known. It measures 5 3/4" around plus an additional 1 1/8" opening and is 2 1/4" wide in the front. It tapers to 1/2" at the terminals. The Kingman turquoise stone measures 2 1/4" long and 1 1/2" wide and is free of chips or cracks...

A beautiful, unique, sterling silver overlay bracelet by Burle Marx. Roberto Burle Marx was a Brazilian landscape architect and jeweler. His brother, Haroldo Burle Marx, also a jeweler , was well-known for his carved stone free form designs, but his collaborations with his brother had a much more linear, abstract feel as in this piece. So I suspect this piece was either a collaboration of the brothers, or designed and made only by Roberto. Measuring 7 1/4" end to end, it is 1 1/4" wide and weigh...

Here is a very Victorian grooming chatelaine from the 1800s. It has a Chinese fish motif at the top, and dangling from that are 3 implements: a tweezers, an ear-cleaning device, and a third implement for cleaning nails. (We saw a similar chatelaine on eBay that was advertised as a device for opium users, but we don’t think so! But as non-opium users, we could be wrong ….) It is unmarked but tests positive for silver, and with a patina consistent with age. It is lacking a belt hook, but is i...
