Silver gilt filigree and enamel brooch by Topazio, depicting a lovely Portuguese lady with a basket of grapes. Figures in elegantly traditional dress are found in many of Topazio’s pieces from the 1920’s and 30’s. The chains fixed to the pin makes the brooch move, and so draws attention to its wearer. Brooch in the style of Pal Kepenyes, bronze and black enamel. Kepenyes, a sculptor of Hungarian origin, moved to Mexico in the 1960’s. His jewelry is in the rough or “brutalist” style of the time. Unreadable signature near the pin needle. Width "1 ¾ / 4.6 cm. Condition: fine.

Two silhouettes of Pre Columbian warriors facing the mask which is surrounded by a repousse of an animal with the mouth opened. Measures 6 1/4" around with an opening of 1". Measures 1 5/8" wide.
