Here is a lovely pin in the style of Murrle, Bennett and Archibald Knox. It features a heart interlaced with a navette-shaped frame (this interlace-type motif is also called β€œentrelac”). It is centered by a pretty oval turquoise, and has a safety chain. Unsigned, and marked 9ct. It measures 1-1/2 x 3/4", and weighs 2.6g. A true maestro when it comes to combining silver with faceted, brilliant gems Enrique Ledesma is the creator of this modernist Mexican hinged bangle bracelet. Ledesma set three color-change sapphires against a glistening sterling frame here but I have also had one or two similar pieces in which the silver had been oxidized. Held in place with prongs, the stones are open-backed allowing the light to play its luminous games and coax different colors out of the stones...

Here are the most fabulous costume 'jewels of India' type earrings that I've ever seen! The designer Nina Ricci started out with big gold plated disks and then set them with large emerald green glass tear shaped stones with two half circle moons of tiny rhinestones surrounded it. Then the outer edge has a design of raised round beading. The earrings are in excellent condition measuring over an inch in either direction.

Here is a serene lady with water lilies or lotuses in her hair. The lotus, a variety of water lily, has symbolized purity, enlightenment, and resurrection. This lady is remarkably similar to a piece made by the Unger Bros., but marked only STERLING – and the stamp is reversed! We believe her to be a copy, but still made around 1900 – this seemed to have happened fairly frequently back in the day...

A very beautiful vintage brooch set with wired in green gripoix type glass beads all terminating with a claw set rhinestone, much of like what Mason Gripoix used to do, with additional big pink foiled back crystals stones. It has a tropical design, atop is a palm tree like metal that hangs a bit over the green 'fruit', with 3 sections of small metal chains spouting out. I have never seen another one like it. To the reserve it has an open c-clasp with straight pin...

One of the most inspired Taxco modernists, Enrique Ledesma is not widely known as an enamelist yet he did create jewelry combining sterling with bright colored enamels. It seems that those pieces are rare and difficult to find but if one is lucky enough to come upon an example, the search is justified and the seeker duly rewarded! The necklace at hand, distinctly "machine age" in its constituting elements, breaks free of its functionalist constraints with the use of brilliant blue enamel...

This mid-century Antonio Pineda bracelet is a spectacular showpiece which pulls out all the stops. Diamond shaped onyx stones and silver panels alternate in this geometric modernist design. It's a substantial luxurious piece which looks and feels fabulous on the wrist. A rarely seen design, and collector quality. One of the most exquisite Antonio pieces I've come across...
