Boy, does this set take me back. I have to admit I am old enough to remember when we bought lots of these kinds of sets for the men in our lives, and Swank was always the best of them. The tie clip is 2" long and is simple with a sort of swirl design at the end. The matching cufflinks are about 7/8" in diameter. The set is in good condition, with some small signs of wear such as might be expected...

A streamlined, classic design of an oval amber mounted in a bezel setting. The cuff links appear hardly worn; the amber exhibits no scratches or other signs of wear. The anchor buttons are undecorated silver; the hinge is in good working order and the bridge bars are secure. They are marked 835 for silver content, with a maker’s mark of a stylized fish, probably for the German firm of Fischlandschmuck. The amber buttons measure ¾ inch by 5/16 inch.

The anchor bars are marked sterling and bear a patent number for a 1948 hinge design; there is no maker’s mark, but they are likely American made. The panels measure a little over 1 inch by ½ inch. Weight: 17.5 grams total

A handsome, heavy pair of 18K yellow gold and onyx cufflinks, each fashioned as two spheres joined by chain-like connectors. The design is a play on positive/negative space. A heavy and finely made pair of 18K yellow gold cufflinks in the doorknocker style. The faces are attached with solid curved connectors to flip backs in a Moorish-inspired openwork arabesque pattern. The curved connectors cause the cufflinks to lie very flat against the cuff (despite their weight) for a really elegant appearance. The doorknocker motif has been a recurring element in French jewelry since Cartier introduced it during the Art Deco era...
