The amber has a beautiful honey color and an abundance of the highly-prized natural discoid inclusions called “sun spangles”. Elegant and classic two-sided design of sterling silver round buttons with black enamel that appears hardly worn. They are from the 1920s, probably American-made, and marked sterling on the back. A very nice pair of Victorian cufflinks, the rectangular faces with canted corners and decorated with a plain band bisecting a field decorated with rococo foliate engraving. This is a design type more often seen on English cufflinks of the period, and it has a faintly heraldic appearance. The plain band, in fact, would have been ideal for a monogram. The connectors are marked 14K and also have the maker’s mark for Carter, Gough & Howe.

A rare pair of mid-century haute couture cufflinks by Pierre Cardin. Each face comprises a carved jadeite bead simply mounted on a gold post. The backs are slightly arched gold bars. The jadeite beads are carved in a floral pattern and are done so in a way that they are carved completely through from one side to another. It’s likely that the cufflinks were constructed from an antique strand of jadeite beads...

An extremely attractive pair of cufflinks worked in 18K white gold, the faces featuring plaques of black mother of pearl set with diamonds. Black mother of pearl is much less common than the usual light color and displays a beautiful pearly luster with overtones of green and rose that can be clearly seen in the photos. These hexagonal 14Kt tri-color gold cufflinks were made circa 1930. One side of each cufflink is centered by an old-mine diamond, bezel set in pink gold. The hexagon around the center diamond is made of yellow gold, and the outer edge is finely engraved with a branch design made of white gold. The approximate total weight of the two diamonds is 0.12 Ct.

A handsome pair of mid-century 18K yellow gold cufflinks, the faces collet-set with rectangular tablet-cut pyrope-almandite garnets. Garnets such as these are typically very dark, but these stones have superb clarity and a lively deep orangy-red color. The fine engraving on the gold surface beneath the garnets shows through and imparts just a bit of sparkle. The toggle backs are fully stamped with French 18K gold marks.
