Offered is a wonderful vintage and custom made bow tie in Roman style, in sterling silver, depicting a magnificent large turquoise stone on the center piece medallion and two smaller turquoise stones on the lower parts of the bow tie, all attached to a beautiful hand woven Roman style chain...
This necklace measures 24 1/2" long.
The breastplate measures 9" by 6".
The large beads measure 2 1/2" long and the smaller silver beads measure 1" long.
The heart shape breastplate is probably late 19th century or earlier 20th century.
The necklace and breastplate are silver but the purity is unknown.
There is carnelian and a gold wash on the breastplate /pendant.
The necklace part may have been restrung at one point.

Common to South Arabia and Yemen, the mesh "labbeh" or "Kirdam" were worn wrapped around the neck or attached to the sides of the headgear hanging down as a frame to women’s chin. This particular libbeh is from the late 1800’s–early 1900. This very finely made tribal labbeh has elaborate lengths of filigree and numerous dangling beads.
