Early 20th c. Italian silver pendant necklace in a figural Medieval Revival design, this is a piece made in the style associated with the Peruzzi and Coppini Bros yet bears no maker's signature. Usually drawing inspiration from Baroque or Renaissance art, this type of Italian jewelry was very popular with young ladies on their Grand Tour and brought back either as mementos of travel adventures or as gifts for the less fortunate ones who did not get to go...

It's very rare to see the work of Valentin Vidaurreta, and this piece is a beautiful example of his work. It's a book-piece design, with photos of both the front and back shown in Silver Masters of Mexico, p. 90. Circa 1945-1955. Exquisite repoussé silver work showcases two flowers with curling tendrils rising above. The pin closes with a "C" clasp and safety lock...

Unadulterated commitment to minimalism - this is the statement this Antonio Pineda modernist bracelet makes. I have sold this specific design a couple of times in the past but its unpretentious beauty never fails to impress me. Wrought in the maestro's favorite .970 alloy, it has had a long, happy life and is now waiting for its next caretaker. It has a 6 3/4" inner circumference (clasped) with a width just shy of 1" wide and weighs a good 110.4 grams...

The Matl Taller signed properly Turkeys is one of those outstanding designs by Matilde Poulat. A tulip in it's center is truly georgeous. There is approximately 19 in. of wearable length that lays perfectly all the way around the neck. The center is 2 1/8th inches tall. I would classify the size as being a firm mid size necklace with an impressive presence. The weight is 82 grams of quality workmanship. No damage or welds, just LOOK AT THAT NECKLACE!

Antonio Pineda's fine silver and pearl jewelry are among my most favorite by the renowned Taxco designer. I consider pearls to be the epitome of elegance and when they adorn modernist settings, they magically bequeath some of that timeless classy luster to their minimalist frame. There are three pearls here, graduated in size, nested closely together against an oxidized channel that makes their soft glistening more pronounced...

It is a rare occurrence to find a Fred Davis brooch that is inspired by Olmec art and I am thrilled to be presenting this example here. Set in a classically Deco, tiered sterling frame, the "mask" is carved out of malachite that is left unpolished, and fit in its bezel with a band across the forehead keeping it securely in place. The stone has beautiful striations and as you can see, it also had a natural fissure in it that has popped revealing some of the black inclusions in the malachite...

A very rare design to find in the form of a bracelet the "crouching man" was originally designed by Taxco's foremost modernist, Salvador Teran, and in my opinion, it is one of the most successful re-interpetations of an ancient motif within the design vernacular of the 1950s-60s. The fact that it's so difficult to find with Teran's signature drives prices high up and makes examples by different makers sought after as well...

Inspired by ancient Aztec and Maya glyphs and stamps this Mexican silver necklace by Gerardo Lopez combines figural overlay with niello to create an eye-catching example of Taxco's "archeological" style. Birds of prey, warriors, the divine monkey Ozomahtli and, of course, Quetzalcoatl, the feathered serpent, are represented in the trapezoid links, the actual figures glistening against the sterling backdrop's metallic black...

A most adorable centipede provided the source of inspiration for this modernist Reveriano Castillo Mexican silver and tiger's eye brooch. Quite a rare find - and an exciting one at that! - the brooch is long and the graduated semi-spheres that form the creature's body are articulated so that you can position it in many ways on your clothes using the pin clasp but also the little hook that is located behind the centipede's pointy "tail"...

Here is a pin that we just love! The colors are so pretty, and the leafy design is so very Arts & Crafts. It consists of a berry and leaf motif, highlighted by a central cushion-cut cabochon blue chalcedony (thought to bring good luck), with a circular green aventurine cabochon on either side. Measuring 1-1/4” x 3/8", it is unmarked but tests as silver. It is in excellent condition, although the pin is a little bent (pretty typical for these old pieces)...

Here is a sterling silver buckle with a floral motif set off by plique a jour (translucent) enamel. These buckles with plique are quite unusual. The plique is red, two shades of blue, and green. It is signed with a “JK” above another “JK” in a box. It has marks for London, 1886, and a duty mark. Measuring 3-1/8” x 2-1/4", it weighs 32.7g or 1.16 oz. It is in very good condition. The plique has a few hairlines and some bubbles, which is normal...

We love this necklace! It features a central silver panel with a big labradorite cab, 3/4” x 9/16”. The whole panel with dangles measures 13/16” x 1-7/8”. The wearable length is 24”, and there are 20” worth of labradorite beads, most having the distinctive blue flash for which that stone is known. The clasp has a very pretty leaf and flower design, and it’s stamped 925 on the back. The beads are on knotted string, and there are 4 (untested) silver beads. The whole thing weighs 29.5...

A well crafted hand wrought bracelet with four rectangular pierced links in sterling silver. Marked with a conjoined 'TC' and sterling. Probably the work of The TC Shop from Chicago.

Measures about 6 1/2" around and 1" wide. Probably better for a slimmer wrist. Snap in closure fastens securely.

Fine Arts and Crafts design. Lovely work.
