A most unusual Mexican Deco necklace, this Mexico City figural example falls under several categories. Its links are inlaid with azur-malachite in the Los Castillo "mozaico azteca" style but it also belongs in the "mask" jewelry sub-genre thanks to the repousse portrait adorning the central station. And even though this is not a work from Taxco and its maker is, for all intents and purposes, an "unsung" contributor to Mexico's 20th c...

Here is a very pretty lavalier or pendant, with enamel on both sides - which is unusual for Arts & Crafts pieces. The front has a central panel in a beautiful peacock blue, and 2 outer panels in the shape of stylized hearts, in a darker blue. The back is sky-blue (somewhat worn at a few of the high points). There is a freshwater pearl drop. It weighs 2.1g and measures 1-5/8” from the top of the bail to the bottom of the pearl...

Here is a sweet brooch or pin in the shape of a bow, made from blue and turquoise plique a jour with twisted wire work running through it. (The colors in the photographs may be deceptive, depending on your computer monitor). The (translucent) enamel over the wire spirals is turquoise, and the rest is a medium blue. “Plique a Jour” translates as “Light of Day.” Measuring 1-1/4” x 7/8", it weighs 3.1g. On the back it is marked with “800”, and an illegible (maker’s?) mark...

We have a signed, early Fred Davis bracelet today to offer. The amethyst stones are a mix of milky swirl to a dark purple. When you look into them it appears to be a whole other world inside them. They are without chips or cracks. I could not do justice to them in my photos and there is reflection on their surfaces. They are a fancy barrel cut and the all silver links area cut in a half cylinder shape. There are no dents or damage. A little over 1 inch tall in height and a weight of 70 grams...

One of Enrique Ledesma's signature designs, the necklace at hand is a must-have for the collector because of the rare color agate used to complete the trapezoid links. Most frequently found with black onyx, obsidian and green stones (chrysocolla or chrysoprase) this is an ode to "less-is-more" necklace and to come upon an example with this rich, reddish brown agate is a real treat...

Here is a very sweet pin showing two cupids, a boy and a girl, looking sweet, serene, and loving. Their wings are a pale purple or mauve color, nicely complimenting the 900 silver. The girl is wearing a tiny necklace of roses. The pin measures 1” x 1-3/4” and weighs 5.7g. The clasp might be a replacement, but the rest is all original, and the pin is in excellent antique condition. It is stamped “DEPOSE” (“patent or registration in France”). C 1900...

Here is an unusual sterling silver and enamel pendant, which comes out of the Arts & Crafts movement, spearheaded by William Morris, John Ruskin, et al. The enamel colors are associated with the women’s suffrage movement in the UK: green (Give), white (Women the), and violet (Vote) – or at least, that’s the story! The free-standing wire work (so unusual!) interlaces around the body of the piece, and holds an oval of mother-of-pearl in place. Also unusual is the use of brown enamel...

Celia Harms known for her work with gemstones has 12 stones on each half of this bracelet. All different colors with most being Mexican fire opals. The height of the bracelet is 2.5 inches and the diameter is 2.75 inches. This is one of her earlier works as it is closed with a barrel and pin. The patina is lovely and there is no damage. It has quite a presence with a weight of 107 grams. This fits like a bangle on the wrist. It would be hard to make this art piece for the offered price with all ...

Circa mid-century, here is a rare find from Antonio Pineda. Extra-long dangle earrings with gorgeous smokey quartz gemstones. The almost pure 970 silver has a bamboo design, and the bezel-set stones have open-back settings to let the light shine through, playing up the exquisite bronze hues. There are three sections - the top screwback portion, long bamboo silver middle, and the oval quartz stones - so these have plenty of movement. Measures 3 1/2" tall. Weight is 17.8 grams. Signed and...

Brooch measures just under 2" long and 3/8" at the widest. Rollover clasp holds securely. There is a little wear to the top surface of the pearl but you have to use a loupe to see it.
