A massive, amazing vintage bracelet in 970 silver with 6 cabachon amethysts by Antonio Pineda. The randomly placed stones are deeply set into the silver and appear to be almost floating. The cuff measures 5 1/4" around in the inside plus an additional 1 1/2" opening. It is 2 3/4" wide at all points and weighs 177 grams. This is a heavy bracelet but remarkably comfortable on. This piece is truly a show stopper and I believe to be quite rare...

This bold Mexican sterling silver bracelet is composed of domed hollow panels with complex cut-out designs based on pre-Columbian motifs. It was made by the premier Taxco workshop of Los Ballesteros. It has a very secure tongue-and-groove clasp with a graceful curved knob; the bracelet also appears to have the original safety chain. The cut work is intact; the hollowed areas within are oxidized to dramatically set off the designs. There are some very minor dents in the sides of a few panels...

Today we have a vintage Mexican silver parure made by Maestro Sigi Pineda. Sigi has had a long career in handmade jewelry within the Spratling era. His work is heavy, made with excellent stones as this parure also has. The obsidian is extreme sheen on the necklace and you may see silver dots that sparkle on the other pictures which is the camera reacting to the sheen in less light. There is no damage of any kind and this modernist design is a basic to wear with anything...

A mid-century Los Castillo Mexican silver and stone inlay belt buckle, this is a piece out the workshop's "onix negro" series. Symbols of fertility, rebirth, transformation and even immortality snakes and serpents have been favorite jewelry motifs through the centuries and across civilizations. In this Mexican Deco demi signed by the Los Castillo they are formed by silver, copper and brass, their slick bodies coiled around shimmering golden sheen obsidian. This is one of the best examples of the technique I have seen by the Los Castillo - probably because I love snake jewelry...
