Large mixed metal fish pin by Rafael Dominguez, Mexico, 1943. Primarily made of 960 silver, there are copper and brass inset accents "marrying" the metals. Wonderful pin measures 3 3/8" long by 2 1/8" wide and is signed "RD 960". This Mexican brooch is pre-Columbian in design. The onyx face is decorated with a silver headdress, earrings, and neck ornamentation with “feather” pendants. The bezel-set stone face is onyx.

Slender, elongated, hand-wrought fine silver feathers that end in a playful curl make up this set of "swan wing" modernist earrings by Antonio Pineda. I have to admit that this is one of the most unexpected Antonio creations I have ever encountered. When I first saw it, I thought that the clip-ons would have to surely be a later replacement yet I have since seen a similar pair and that one too had the same findings. Now these are earrings for those not afraid to .....

Signed pre 1950 by E.S. The height is 4 inches and the diameter is a 2.5in. wide making it perfect for a push up the arm to work comfortably. The weight is 65 grams heavy and is with no dents or damage. A brand new spring has been added to make it ready to go for another 70 years. The repousse is magnificent and the bead work shows the workmanship and time that went into the production of this treasure.

Design 5161 is a Margot de Taxco masterpiece of beads and swirls. Hallmarked correctly as shown with a 100 gram weight showing off quality repousse and a generous 18 inch wearable length. The drop is constructed with 3 links which measures an expansive 7 in. It leads up the neck without intrusion to the sides of the neck. It makes a perfect silhouette and lays in a well thought out manner...

Continuing on the theme of Etruscan style jewelry, this time I am presenting you with a big, fun Mexican Deco example that will satisfy both your eyes and your ears! Not only is this a beautiful, very sculptural piece, it is also a chiming pendant, emitting a sweet sound whenever you shake it. Music to the ears, candy to the eyes the pendant measures 1 5/8” tall (including the bail) by 1 1/4” wide (at the waist) and weighs 32.2 grams...

This Mexican Silver necklace is hallmarked with an ms conjoined, Taxco, Sterling and an eagle 3 as shown. It is very outside of what I would normally acquire. Lighter than my average acquisitions, it is solid with no repousse and is 30 grams in weight. Very comfortable as it feels lighter than air. The minute I saw it worn I was convinced that it was very special. Dramatic at 7 inches long and 4 inches across the presence is commanding...

Antonio Pineda was masterful with this design. Each stone of onyx is reflected by 4 silver mirrors. The bracelet has a length of 7in and a height of 1in. This is properly signed and is one of the Pineda's featured in the book SILVER SEDUCTION. The weight is 95 grams of 970 pure silver. The presence is rich and sleek. Hard to find and in a condition with no issues. All stones are without chips. This was difficult to photograph as the "mirrored" reflections blur the lines...

This Los Castillo bracelet is a truly stunning piece, with a wonderful deco design. There are six gently curved panels connected with oxidized bulls-eye spirals, from which two pendants dangle in front. This is Los Castillo's design # 788, and it is collector quality. Complete with safety chain. Measures a closed, wearable length of 6 1/4". Width in front with the dangles is 1 1/2". Weight is 42.3 grams. Signed and hallmarked "Los Castillo Taxco", 788, with a very worn eagle assay.

Los Castillo 396 swirl clamper was designed by Margot van Voorheis Carr when married to Don Antonio Castillo. Her early work brought on success that followed her through out her career and this clamper bracelet reflects one of the very best repousse clampers from the Spratling Era. The bracelet has a dark patina and it is heavy at 105 grams. 4in. tall and the 2.5in. diameter fits an average size of most wrists...

This necklace has an early design period made by William Spratling at the beginning of the Mexican Silver Renaissance. Also the necklace boasts a roomy 16.75 inches of wearable length. Formed as parrots with flowing tails, with sharply molded detail. One clip mechanism is slightly loose, but both are in good working order, with a patent application number that dates to 1931. The backs bear the Los Castillo/Taxco/Made in Mexico marks, as well as the design number of 168A. Each bird measures 1 7/8 inches long by 1 3/8 inches at the widest part. Gross weight: 26.6g

Before William Spratling brought Taxco to life, popular jewelry all over the world was being made by spinning silver and turning it into beautiful designs in filigree. Spratling designed this eye catching "entwined hands" buckle in the late 1940's. Measuring 5" X 2 1/4" & weighing 49 grams the piece is in beautiful condition. The back loops will accommodate up to a 1 inch strap. The buckle can also be worn as a pendant. Spratling also designed a similar "hands" necklace. Hallmarks are WS 925.
