This Los Castillo is an early design 592 and crafted when Margot Van Voorhies was married to Antonio Castillo. This is not for the faint of heart with a .5in. depth, 21 inches long and 1.25in. tall. Showing further quality is the weight of 183 grams. It displays a naturally darkened patina. I have showed a picture of the well working clasp as it is old in style and almost invisible. Love this on, just LOOK AT THAT NECKLACE!

Vintage Mexican silver Maestro Beto is the signature on this beautifully hand chased, solid show stopper. The weight is a hefty 57 grams and is made with thick silver. The wearable length is 16in. I have never seen anything made by Beto that was not well executed, just LOOK AT THAT NECKLACE!

Offered on consignment... Circa mid-century, here is a large stunning amethyst ring which I believe is from Mexico. It is unmarked. Tested to be 940 silver, so greater than sterling 925. It is a magnificent ring, reminiscent of the work of Fred Davis and Abraham Paz. The amethyst is a gorgeous old stone with quartz marbling, natural inclusions, and lots of character. The stone is free of any flea bites, cracks, or chips...

Circa 1940's, this bracelet was produced by Hector Aguilar for Coro at the Taller Borda.

In 1943, Hector Aguilar formed a financial partnership with Gerald Rosenberger, the owner of Coro, to design and produce jewelry at the Taller Borda. This partnership was dissolved by 1950.

The bullet bracelet is one of the most elusive and iconic designs produced by Hector Aguilar...

Some would say this is Antonio Pineda's most loved design. His work is masterful and with a 1.75in. tall presence it commands center stage. The diameter is 4.5in. and is at least a 16.5in. wearable length. My model has molded hair that takes up some length of the necklace in the back so it will be somewhat longer on you. The obsidian glows (but is hard to photograph). No damage and no flaws with a display of 223 grams of majestic silver and stone...

Hand-hammered silver reminiscent of the Arts and Crafts movement and a jade bead that brings to mind ancient Aztec and Maya jewelry combine in this sterling silver ring by the Los Castillo. Sergio is another one of Taxco’s “enigmatic” names. Whether a maestro or a retailer is not known nor is their relationship - if any at all - with the other Sergio whose name is signed in script. Over the years of my buying and selling vintage Mexican silver jewelry, I have come upon a few examples of their work - and I loved them all. The modernist articulated necklace I am presenting here, very much in the spirit of Sigi Pineda’s designs, is the epitome of minimalism...

Bold, colorful and generously long this vintage Mexican chain necklace is signed by Cecilia and Tono, one of Taxco's most successful duos. The combination of chunky amethyst, slender sterling tubes and lozenge stations embellished with azur-malachite inlay is undoubtedly eye-catching and I love the irregular shape of the stone beads which underscores their hand-cut quality. Wear it alone or combine it with similar pieces, the result will be stunning either way...
