A vintage (mid century) illustration of a pink orchid blossom, the background airbrush and the flower hand painted, 14 1/2" by 14 1/2" inside the attractive double mat, the piece 22 1/2" by 22 1/2" as framed in silvery complementary framing, signed at lower right by artist "Childs". The name being a common one, I searched but did not immediately tie this to a listed, known artist. Nevertheless he/she was talented...

Born in Paris in 1830, Dumaige studied sculpture under Féuchère and Dumont. He exhibited his sculptures depicting groups, statues, and busts at the Salon from 1862-1877. . He sculpted a large number of busts, groups and statuettes in marble, plaster and bronze, including statuettes of Desmoulins and Rabelais. He died at St-Gilles-Croix-de-Vié in 1888...

Beautifully executed by an unknown but obviously talented artist is this 10" by 8" oil on canvas of a seated woman draped in fabric, against a darker drape background. The work is contemporary. It was found unframed and for illustration purposes I have "married" it to a frame that somewhat fits it, however, the frame is marginally unsuitable because it is a bit shallow for an oil painting's stretcher...

A fine portrait miniature of a handsome gentleman painted on natural wafer by Henry Inman. The sitter is wearing a black jacket and stock, and a white waistcoat, shirt, and collar. Displayed in a cast foliate case with the reverse having a glazed aperture with a cast foliate surround and containing a lock of hair.

The painting is in excellent condition with no issues to note. The case is also in fine fettle, although the reverse could use a bit of cleaning...

Foussa Itaya was born in 1919 in Foukouoka, Japan and finished his studies at the school of Beaux Arts in Japan. He has exhibited at the Salon Nikakai and in 1953 went to Paris to exihibit his works. In 1955 he exhibited at the Drouant-David Gallery, and many of his works are on exhibit at the Israel Museum, Carnegie Hall in New York, the Japanese Embassy in Paris, and in Switzerland as well.

Gerald Leslie Brockhurst 1890-1978 English This is a fine original etching by British artist Gerald Brockhurst, The title is La Tresse, a portrait of his wife Anais done in 1926. This image is pencil signed and has an image size of 8 3/8X 6 7/8 inches. Cat. Fletcher 56. Nicely framed with archival materials.

Around 1960 Haku Maki probably did the Ox as a woodblock print. He was then a young artist in Tokyo. He may have done some Ox images before James Michener did his now wellknown book, but probably not many: 510 were used in the book The Modern Japanese Print". The prints of Japanese artists included in the book are large-ish, it is not embossed...

Mount Mansfield in Winter by Eric Tobin, oil on canvas, 30 inches x 36 inches, 2018. Signed in lower right and titled on reverse. Original oil on canvas attributed to Lillian Genth (American, 1876-1953), early 20th Century. This painting measures roughly 42" by 31" in its frame. It is initialed L.G. upper right, and interestingly enough inscribed "Nelson" (for George Laurence Nelson, with whom she painted in Connecticut) on the back. From the collection of Robert Austin, author of "Artists of the Litchfield Hills". This painting is in excellent condition.
